The Eye COMET

By Neerajnavare

While trying to sort out colors combinations from the Vice Palette of Urban Decay, I remember Haley's Comet. A Comet with a tail of light, flying across the galaxy and creating a lot of drama...LOL...I love comets and I think this palette had all the colors that could be used to create a comet.

Basically this is an extended eye and a fantastic way to look absolutely stunning. Its a great way to extend round eyes and create more of an almond shape or a feline eye. This is extremely seductive and really works amazing well in the evenings.
So lets see, how to get the look........

I have used the following colors Black Market, Occupy, Armor and Provocateur. Loved this absolutely unusual combination and trust me you shall see more of such quirky colors in the upcoming looks.

Conceal the under eyes with Clinique All About Eyes Concealer. I have unfortunately replaced by HG concealer with a better concealer called Edward Bess Platinum Concealer, so it will be seen in the other posts.
Also for foundation I have used Guerlain Parure Aqua Foundation in color 23 and dusted some Guerlain Les Violettes Loose Powder to set the makeup.

Prime the lids with Urban Decay Primer Potion to get a good canvas to work with.

Apply Black Market eyeshadow on the four corners of the eye. On the outer third apply the eyeshadow completely and extend it out straight and not diagonally upwards.

Apply Armor eyeshadow in the crease and blend it towards the brow bone.

Apply Occupy eyeshadow on the center of the lid and blend it side wards. Although Occupy and Armor eyeshadows look absolutely different in the pan, on the lid they look very very different.

Smoke out Occupy on the lower lids to blend into the Black Market eyeshadow.

Apply Armor on the center of the lid to add some reflection and build a base for the 'comet' head.

Trace the water line with the Maybelline Eye Studio Gel liner. Also wing out the gel liner on the outer corners and draw a line straight than drawing towards the end of the brow a la feline flick. This is what Angelina Jolie's makeup artist does for her.

Apply Provocateur eyeshadow on the center of the lid with fingers to prevent unnecessary fall outs.

Curl lashes and apply 2-3 coats of Lancome Hypnose Doll's Eyes mascara.

Draw a thin line from the outer corner of the eye with a gel liner to draw the comet's trail.

Extend Black Market eyeshadow to create a dark haze and extend the eye in that manner. I just love this shape.

In the reality this looks literally like comet. The flash did change the colors a bit even after striving hard get it right.
To finish the look, I choose to stay with my favorite plums and deeper colors although various blush-lipstick combinations could go with this. I used the Guerlain Rose Aux Joues in Pink Punk blush on the cheeks and Guerlain Rouge G in Gwen as a stain on the lips. For highlighting the cheeks, the best one is Lancome Midnight Rose highlighter.
Hope you liked the look. Do let me know in the comments.
Till then,
Ciao
