The Cellulite Talk

By Maradam @laura_fash

Orange skin, or also known as Mars territory with all those craters.

Whatever you want to call it, 9 out of 10 women have it. Self explanatory; I love it because it makes us human and after the Victoria’s Secret’s show (yes, I am still shocked) I needed to point out that there’s no celeb or angel, for that matter, that doesn’t have it. It can be an OK cellulite if you take good care of it or we can be talking about you ending up looking like a piece of Gruyere cheese.

So, steps against the beast:

  • Make sure to drink enough water to keep your organism running smooth. You should be drinking about 2.5 litres of water a day and skipping sodas. Or anything bubbles related, yes, San Pellegrino is in there.
  • One of cellulite’s main causes is not moving enough. With this blogging boom I know that it’s hard to go away from the computer, but try introducing regular exercise into your life. This will not only tone your muscles and make you leaner, it is also a good way to improve your cellulite condition if it’s already there. Not a fan of running? Try drinking your morning coffee while doing squats and lunges. {Did I say coffee? Forgot to mention, if you want no cellulite, there’s also no coffee for you, so move on to green tea!}
  • I know the second option is not going to be a very popular one, after all not a lot of people exercise for fun, don’t even think about it as a task… But, into more tricky stuff. It’s all about keeping your legs moving, and the blood flowing, and one very good way to do this is with cold showers. Not only it will make your skin appear tighter but it will also reduce the bumpy road look on your legs.
  • Creams, lotions, gels… They might seem a scam at first with that gigantic list of ingredients and 3 digits prices. But, when applied regularly (I’d go for twice a day) with a GOOD massage, they do wonders. My favorites are Biotherm Celluli Laser, Clarins High Definition Body Lift and The Firminator, also known as Slimwear, by Soap&Glory. This last one has a super cute packaging that is also very good for motivation with slogans like “tight genes? want to look like you were born with them?”.
  • Brushhhh. Not your hair. Well, maybe in some cases?! I am talking about special body buffering brushes. Again, it’s all about stimulating the skin and getting circulation moving and working against women’s biggest enemy.
So, what do you say? Are you ashamed of your cellulite? Do you do anything about it? Do you only take care of it during bikini season, or not even?
