My Take On the Product
I got this gloss a year back, what caught my attention was the lovely nude brown shade.
Somehow do not understand the name of the gloss ” Love Gloss” or rather “Gloss Oeur” seems to be french though. Another funny thing the shade does not have name, it just has a number. I really feel so incomplete without the name of the shade. The gloss that I have is nude brown in shade and is numbered 04. The gloss comes in a normal plastic body packing, it has a lovely heart shaped brush for application.
The use of the heart shaped brush is that it helps to apply the gloss perfectly on the contour of your lips without spreading the gloss here and there. The gloss has a thick, creamy and sticky consistency. I love the creamy texture as it glides very smoothly while application, but I hate the sticky part after the application. The gloss transfers also easily while drinking water and eating.
The staying power is extremely poor, not more than 2 hrs, that too if you eat and drink, then it might last for an hour also. The gloss is quiet pigmented so one swipe would give you give, you a desired color, but, that depends which shade you pick up and how pigmented your lips are. The shade I have been nude brown color with a hint of peach undertone, since I am very fair, I have to apply two to three swipes to make it visible. This shade actually resembles melted chocolate sometimes. This color is meant for medium fair to wheatish skin tone beauties. To be honest, I expected The body shop to come up a better gloss, this gloss is a complete waste of money. It is not really worth Rs 595/-.
Pros
1. Creamy texture
2. Pigmented shade
3. Available in stores
4. Heart shaped brush is the only good thing about this gloss.
Con
1. Feels sticky after application
2. Transfers easily
3. Poor staying power
4. For me, it’s a Con if, I dunno the name of the shade i am applying.
Rating: 2/5
Overall Verdict : I love The Body shop when it comes to hair and bath essentials, but in make up there is still a long way to go. I will not recommend this to anyone, even if you want to try different colours, this is not worth the money.
