The Best Affordable Lip Oil: Stroke Beauty Lab Silk Kiss Review

By Alyssa Martinez @ItsMariaAlyssa

Lip oil provides hydration, shine, and a hint of color to the lips, which is why many people especially those suffering from dry or chapped lips prefer it. Unlike some lip balms, lip oils provide a glossy finish that can make the lips look fuller and more vibrant. Unfortunately, the best lip oils in the market are often from expensive high-end brands. But I found a TikTok-viral lip oil that is good and affordable. Keep reading my Stroke Beauty Lab Silk Kiss review to determine if you should add this to your lip collection and where to buy it.

WHAT IS IT?

According to their website, Stroke Beauty Lab Silk Kiss is a weightless, buildable sheer tinted lip oil that leaves a long-lasting crystalline finish and a mentholated feel. Its oil component is absorbed by the lips, and the luminous splash of color & the glimmer of gloss remains.

Notable Ingredients

It contains Vitamin E that hydrates the lips to make them smoother and softer. Menthol temporarily increases blood flow for plumper and fuller lips. It also has something they call Revidrate which they claim is a groundbreaking ingredient that recreates the skin’s natural moisture for all-day inside and out lip hydration to improve overall lip texture.

PERFORMANCE

APPLICATION: Swipe as many coats of lip oil as needed using the applicator wand. For a subtle stain of color and gloss, use the silk kiss on its own; or use it as a top coat to lipstick to give the lips a color-rich glaze.

SCENT: It smells like candy. But it has no flavor, unlike lip balms.

PACKAGING: It has sleek packaging that looks luxurious.

TEXTURE & FORMULA: Non-sticky and lightweight.

MY EXPERIENCE

The first ever tinted lip oil I used was the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oil which is more of a lip tint than a lip oil. I’m not saying it’s bad, but I am not interested in repurchasing it even if it is on sale. But the Strokes Beauty Lab Silk Kiss is something I am sure that I will surely repurchase.

I got the shade cold “Sensual Sienna” that looks good on my cool-toned Morena skin.

I love how comfortable it is on my lips. It is lightweight and moisturizing, and although it feels a little greasy it is not sticky. It is also minty, but it doesn’t hurt my lips. The lip oil has a sheer glossy finish but it is buildable, allowing for multiple coats to achieve the desired level of color and shine. I also like its large doe foot applicator. I am surprised how precise it is.

This is now my go-to lip product. The shine lasts up to 2 hours and the colors last around 3-4 hours on me. It looks good on my two-toned lips and it makes my lips smooth and hydrated.

The only problem I encounter is whenever I open the product, sometimes it splashes a little which makes me worry when I wear a white shirt. Although someone on TikTok mentioned that it melts down on his lips when the weather is hot, I haven’t experienced it.

VERDICTMY THOUGHTSOverall, the Stroke Beauty Lab Silk Kiss has a lightweight, non-sticky texture that feels comfortable on the lips.
