I’ve been drinking green smoothies for several months now, since this past summer in fact, when I took on the Tennis Fixation Green Smoothie Challenge which you can read all about here: Get Healthy with the Tennis Fixation Green Smoothie Challenge. I am still totally loving them. As I explained in that post, a green smoothie is a combination of water, leafy greens and fruits whipped up into a delicious and nutrient-packed drink that you can enjoy any time of day.
Since this summer, I’ve tried all kinds of combinations of leafy greens and fruits and have come up with a sort of master recipe just for tennis players – the Tennis Fixation Green Smoothie! The Tennis Fixation Green Smoothie is full of healthy leafy greens and fruits to give you energy and keep you fit. But what makes it special is that it also some extra ingredients, not found in your typical green smoothie, that will help to give you plenty of staying power and ensure that you don’t get hungry out on court. I even made a video to show you how easy it is to whip one of these fabulous drinks up my recipe.
Take a look at this quick video from the Tennis Fixation YouTube channel:

Here’s the recipe I gave in the video:
THE TENNIS FIXATION GREEN SMOOTHIE
Makes about 2 to 3 servings
2 cups water
2 cups leafy greens (kale or spinach)
3 cups frozen fruits (I used 2 cups berries & 1 cup bananas)
2-3 tablespoons citrus juice (I used grapefruit juice)
2 tablespoons ground flax seed
1 tablespoon almond butter
Place water and greens in blender and blend thoroughly. Add frozen fruit and blend again. Add citrus juice, ground flax seed and almond butter and blend thoroughly until smoothie is smooth and completely liquified. Enjoy!
I hope you’ll give this recipe a try and let me know what you think. I also hope you’ll subscribe to the Tennis Fixation YouTube channel as I’m planning on adding even more fun tennis videos very soon.
Happy Tennis!
