Ten Face Mask Fails That Won’t Protect Anyone

By Russell Deasley @Worlds_Top_10

As more and more people around the world decide to wear face masks getting hold of a good quality face mask can be hard. So what some people do is make their own! What you are about to see is ten face mask fails that won't protect anyone let alone the user...

Grapefruit Peel

It might smell nice and fruity and it might be bio-degradable, but this is more likely to make a seal around your mouth and prevent you from breathing!

Lettuce Leaf

I would say this person was a vegetarian and only wore things that nature can grow. But sadly it is tied on with plastic strapping, so it's not that environmentally friendly anyway.

Plastic Bottles

I love how this person has turned plastic bottles into something useful, but I can only imagine the edges are rather sharp and the bottles are all liable to steam up making walking in this almost impossible.

Newspaper

Just when I thought the newspaper face mask was a daft idea I also notice the garlic hanging from it as well! It looks like something from a cheap horror movie than PPE (Personal protective equipment). It is amazing what you can make from newspapers that is for sure.

Shoe

This might well be taking things too far, but this is in fact art by Max Siedentopf and it was made to promote peoples genius for making their own face masks and some of the pieces are based on things you see in this very post. But you can see the others here - CLICK HERE -

CD

OK, so this is not a normal CD, it is a Nortons Antivirus disk and while it did do a good job of protecting people online I can't see this protecting anyone in the real world.

Onion

If you are trying to protect yourself from vampires maybe this will be worth a go, but I can't see this protecting anyone and only making someone cry. But I liked the flowers going behind the ears to give it a touch of colour.

Underpants

I suppose as long as they are clean this is better than nothing, but I am not sure I would want to go out wearing a pair of pants on my head even in the middle of a pandemic.

Plastic Tub

While it does offer good protection I would imagine it is hard to breathe inside a plastic tub and it is also hard to see through it especially when it gets steamed up. Also, it doesn't look like the lightest option you will see.

Panty Liner

As long as you don't mind looking like a bit of a fool this isn't a terrible idea at all due to all the filter they have inside of them. But even in trouble times, I would not wear this anywhere other than the bedroom.
