Teacher Appreciation Ideas

Well, since I’ve been gone… How have you been, friends?  I appologize for my absence.  If you are a fellow teacher, you know how cray the end of a school year can be from one day to the next. Likewise, if you are a mom, you also know all the crazy end-o-the year activities, crafts, projects, commitment, parties, etc that come up.

I wanted to take a little time to shed some light on how to show support and thanks for a teacher in your life.  Whether you want to show support to your fellow teacher or to your child’s teacher, or perhaps just celebrate a mentor in your life, I wanted to share some ideas on how to do so.

Gift cards are always lovely.  Remember to keep the gift receiver in mind.  If you always see your teacher friend with a large Diet Coke or Starbucks, take it as a clue to gift them a nice gift card.  Teachers love Target as well.  Target is great because you can get school items or personal items.    If your teacher has pretty nails, consider getting her a manicure at a local salon.  Does your favorite teacher have mad love for their college?  Consider getting him/her a piece of memorabilia: mug, pendant, pens or pencils.

If you cannot decide on a gift item, consider my following suggestion: the gift of your time.  This may seem odd but teachers have a TON of activities, meetings, and packing to do to wrap up the year.  Shoot your teacher an email or send a note offering your time and skill.  Perhaps you have time to go into the classroom and help pack up books, prep things for next year, make copies, organize binders, etc.

Here are some ideas from Pinterest for you to think on… Happy gifting!
