Take me as I am, my friend
Cos what you see, you get
Although I’ve traveled many years
I haven’t got there yet
Plodding on relentlessly
Believing in The Son
Who said He brings completion
To the work that He’s begun.
Though, at times, it’s really hard
I trudge on through the sand
And reach the odd oasis
Where my journey gets a hand
All in all, the benefits
They far outweigh the cons
Cos I am going to heaven
Where my sight is set upon.
