Hey Beauty and Subscription Box Lovers! I am starting a new series where I test out the products I receive in my subscription boxes. I will give my honest opinion on them and let you know if they are worth buying alone or not. I will also link where you can buy the products if you so choose. I think this will be a fun way to learn more about the products and a way to make sure I am using the products I receive. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
Illi Intensive Moisture Hand Cream ($19)
I received this product in my Purse Essentials Memebox. I have really been enjoying this hand cream. It is a fairly thick product, but it soaks into the hands nicely. It has a slight nutty scent which I like. It is not overpowering at all. It really moisturizes my skin without irritating the skin. The only downside is the price is sort of high. The bottle is not that large; however, it will last a long time because it is a hand cream.
I received this product in my August 2015 Allure Sample Society Box. This blush/nude nail color is the trend right now. I really like this color. It is very natural and feminine. The formula is okay. It doesn't last a really long time. I went about 3 days without chipping. I painted my nails with two coats. Also, excuse my short nails. I am trying to stop biting them. It is such a terrible habit.
I received this product in my Target Box! At first, I loved the smell. However, it smell weird in the shower. It smells like something that is burning. It did leave my hair very smooth and moisturized. I really liked it, but I am not wowed by it. I have other hair masks I enjoy more.
Rating:Too Cool For School DinoPlatz Cushy Blusher #2 ($14)
Rating:I received this product in my Gwiyomi 2.0 Membox! I really like this blush. The packaging is adorable and I really love the applicator. It also came with a replacement applicator. I loved that touch. The color is not overly pigmented. It adds a slight wash of pink color to the cheeks. I really love how natural it looks.
I received this product in my Petit Vour Mystery Box! It is a powder that turns into a paste with a few drops of water. I feel like a scientist with these types of products. The scrub has a very strong earthy smell. Root Science says this, "Scrub away the impurities of the day as brightening turmeric provides a surge of youth restoring antioxidants. Our proprietary blend of organic botanicals gently remove dead skin cells, draw impurities from clogged pores and even skin tone. Our "superfood" skin treatment is overflowing with Vitamin C rich fruits, healing herbs and detoxifying clays, unveiling soft, healthy, glowing skin." I could really feel this scrub. It is gently exfoliating. After I rinsed it off and splashed my face with cool water, I could feel my skin tingling. It was not a painful experience, but I could feel it working. My face felt tighter and I had a glow. It left my skin baby bottom smooth. The scrub did not irritate my skin at all and I have sensitive skin. My skin looked awesome the next day too. I am in love with this product!
I received this product in my August 2015 Birchbox. I love the color of this lip/cheek product. I also like how versatile it is because you can wear it on the lips and the cheeks. I love the formula! It is matte, but it is so creamy. It feels so comfortable on the lips. I was shocked at how long it lasted on the lips. I would say it stayed on for about 3 hours and that was with eating and drinking. It is so nice not having to constantly reapply. It also fades nicely and I wasn't left with a ring around my lips. I hate when lip products do that; the middle of the lips fade, but the outside doesn't. I need this product in more colors!
I received this product in my Bianca Jade MizzFit Box. I did not like it at all! It is a chocolate protein shake, but it tastes so fake. It has only 170 calories which is awesome for a protein shake, but it's not even worth it. I hate artificial sweetener because it leaves such a bad aftertaste. This is no exception. The taste lingers so long. The chocolate is not at all rich and it is just nasty. I couldn't even drink half of it. I threw the rest down the sink.
I received this product in Bianca Jade MizzFit Box. This product is designed to prevent chafing when working out. I have this problem because my thighs rub together when I run. I hate when that happens. This is a moisturizing stick that provides a barrier/slippery surface so skin does not rub together. I found this product works decently. However, I find clear gel deodorant works just as well. Therefore, I don't really need to buy this product. I like it and will gladly use it up, but I won't run out and buy it.
I received this product sample in my Petit Vour Mystery Box. I didn't take before and after pic because this is such a small sample. I was only able to get a few uses out of this sample. It was a nice and refreshing toner, but it was not a miracle product. It has a yellowish tint which is strange. It is claimed to moisturize the skin. I didn't notice my skin feeling any more moisturized after using this product. However, it does feel refreshing. I would never pay $68 for a toner unless it was life changing. I can't give a complete review on this product because the sample is just too small.
I received this product in my August 2015 Birchbox! This product intrigued me because it is a self-tanner that activates with water. You are to apply the product to wet skin, wait 3 minutes, and then rinse off with warm water. I loved the fact that this self tanner only took 3 minutes! However, as you can see the results are terrible. This product did not work for me at all. The tan is suppose to develop within 24 hours and be a gradual tan. However, I did not see any color change at all. I even applied a second application and still no color. I am so disappointed in this product.
I really enjoyed testing the products I received in my subscription boxes. What do you think of the items? Are you opinions the same as mine? Are you picking up any of the products? Let me know in the comments below!
