Subscription Product Testing (week Ending 03/05/16)

By Elisabeth @onecutedoc

Hey Beauty and Subscription Box Lovers! These are the subscription box products I received and tested this week. These are my honest opinions and suggestions. I have linked where you can buy the products if you so choose. I hope you learn more about the products subscription boxes offer. I really enjoy testing these products. Let me know what you think in the comments below!

PRODUCT TESTING:

Ettang Modeling Take-Out Cup Pack in Propolis  ($26)

I received this product (one pack) in my January 2016 Mishibox. This mask was really fun to create. You mix in water to the water line (totally could not find this on the package…I don’t know why). There is a small spatula for mixing. It was so fun mixing together; however, I think I added too much water. It was suppose to be a sticky paste, but mine was a soup. It was fun putting it on my face for 15 minutes. It is a peel off mask so that was awesome. Now for the bad part…It irritated my skin so bad. My face was red where the mask was (you can totally see the outline on my face). My skin did not like this mask at all. Luckily, it did go away. However, I won’t be using these packs again. If you have sensitive skin, I would avoid these.

Irritated my skin

Graymelin Double Strength Eye Serum ($14)

I received this product in my February 2016 Mishibox. I have really been enjoying these roller ball eye products. They feel so refreshing on the eyes and really wake me up in the morning. This eye serum is really light weight and sinks into the skin extremely quickly. It is also very travel friendly. I love how it makes my eyes feel and it really does help to de-puff them. I don’t think I would purchase it again because I can’t find it. However, I will continue to use it.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Strumpet ($16)

I received this (sample) in my February 2016 Featured Birchbox. This is a very tiny sample. However, the smallest bit goes the longest way. You only need one tiny (and I mean tiny) drop to cover your entire lips. It is so pigmented and you can build the intensity. It lasts a very long time on the lips because it stains the lips. I used a brush to apply because it can be messy. I really love the color and these lip tars are just so much fun. I will definitely continue using this one. I will also purchase more colors if I find a good sale.

NYC Expert Last Lip Color in Snowcone ($4)

I received this product in my February 2016 Lip Monthly Bag. This isn’t my favorite lip color because it is really frosty. I do love the pink shade just not the frosty overlay. The formula is not too bad. It smells and tastes like frosting which is awesome. It doesn’t last very long on the lips so you have to reapply often. I would not like this formula in darker shades because I wouldn’t want to have to keep reapplying. Overall, this is just and okay lip product.

Just okay

Freeze 24/7 Anti-Aging Eye Serum ($115)

I received this product (sample) in my February 2016 Boxycharm Box. To me, this eye serum seems just as good as other eye serums. It has an extremely high price tag and I am not sure why. I have only been using it for a little while and will have to use it longer to see if it really is worth the price. I will update on another post if it is. It doesn’t irritate my skin which is always good. It sinks in very quickly and feel very nice. It is suppose to reduce puffiness, fine lines, dark circles, and signs of aging. I can’t attest to those results yet. However, I do love that it has no fragrance whatsoever.

Extremely pricey for what it does

BioRepublic Skincare Sheet Mask ($5)

I received this product in my February 2016 Glossybox. I love sheet masks which I have said a million times. I also really enjoy this brand and have loved all the sheet masks I have tried from them. Pomegranates taste amazing and I love the scent of them. This sheet mask did not disappoint. It felt great on my skin and my skin looked very radiant after. It plumped my skin and hydrated it so well. I really enjoyed this sheet mask.

GlamGlow ThirstyCleanse Daily Hydrating Cleanser ($39)

I received this product (sample) in my February 2016 Glossybox. GlamGlow has such a cult following and for good reason. Their products are so much fun to use. This cleanser turns from mud to foam with water. You apply it to dry skin and then lather it up with water. I loved using it. I didn’t see much different between this hydrating cleanser and the other cleanser I have tried from them. I didn’t notice my skin feeling extra hydrated, but it didn’t feel dry either. It removes makeup fairly well and really cleanses my skin. I really love this product and would definitely buy the FULL SIZE.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil ($42)

I received this product (sample) in my February 2016 Ipsy Bag. This oil is just okay. I don’t think I would repurchase the FULL size because I really don’t see anything special about it. I really love face oils and this one is just average. A little goes a very long way and it does give me a dewy look. It didn’t irritate my skin at all. This sample is just so tiny, but will actually last me a long time.

Promise Organic Ultra Moisturizing Argan Cream Facial Lotion With Olive Oil  ($14.99)

I received this product (sample) in my February 2016 Ipsy Bag. This is a gentle face moisturizer. It feels really nice on the skin and sinks in quickly. It is a perfect morning moisturizer and makeup applies nicely on top. It does give my skin some moisture and it isn’t greasy at all. It also smells like grapefruits which I love. If you are not a fan of heavy citrus scents, you will not like this moisturizer. I would definitely consider purchasing the FULL SIZE for a morning face lotion because it is so affordable.

Chella Passionate Pink Lip Pencil ($18)

I received this product (sample) in my February 2016 Ipsy Bag. I love this shade so much. It is a gorgeous red/pink shade. It is very flattering with my skin tone and so easy to apply. It lasts a decent amount of time on the lips and fades beautifully. It doesn’t give me a ring around my lips. It is extremely moisturizing and not at all drying on the lips. I was really surprised at how much I loved this product. It is a perfect on the go product. I will definitely continue using it. I don’t know if I would repurchase because I have so many lip products right now, but it really is awesome.

Naked Cosmetics Mica Pigment in Sierra Nevada ($14.99)

I received this product (sample) in my February 2016 Ipsy Bag. I love this shade so much! It is such a gorgeous glittery pigment. The pigment is very finely milled and really makes the eyes pop. It stuck to the eyes really well and lasted all day. I definitely want to pick up more shades. The only negative I have is the packaging. Every time I open and close it, glitter gets everywhere. I really wish they would have included a sifter. The packaging is terrible, but the product inside is amazing!

Would be 5 bulbs if it had a sifter
