#StyleIsTimeless

By Hollysbeautybox @hollysbeautybox
Hello!
I was recently contacted by the lovelies at Chums to ask if I would be interested in collaborating with them to talk about my tips on transitioning my fashion through seasons. I actually have a few tips on this and so was all too happy to work with the brand, who are sponsoring this post.

In a survey by Chums, it was found that 63% of people surveyed considered comfort to be the most important factor in clothes, followed by price. It was also found that 52% of the women surveyed said their favorite season to dress for is Summer.
As you all will know, I'm a curvy lass and as I've mentioned on here numerous times, I do find it difficult to find fashion that suits each season without having to spend a fortune.  To combat that, I like to buy pieces that transition throughout each season, for which I don't mind spending a bit more on.
Here are a few pieces I like to invest in:
1 - A Good pair of jeans or trousers
I'm not a big lover of jeans - I can just never find a pair that I really like! I like to invest in a pair or two of trousers like these ladies cotton trousers from Chums.
If you can, choose them in a shade you're likely to wear again in a few months - there's no point buying pastel trousers in Spring, it just means you limit yourself to spring/summer use. I would buy them in Black, Grey, White or navy blue which are all transitional colours.
2 - An LBD
Every woman needs a little black dress in their wardrobe that can be worn for staff meetings, work do's, night's out with the girls, a christening or even a funeral. An LBD can be worn in so many different ways. For me personally, I'd choose an LBD which is a midi length (not too short for work days, not too long that it's too formal) and with minimal detailing. Always opt for a mid sleeve so that in winter it's not too cold and in Summer, it's not too hot. Dress it up with heels, belts, bags, jackets or jewelry.
3 - A Blazer or short jacket
I wear a blazer or short jacket with almost everything. Layers are key to comfort in my opinion - I get hot quite easily and so even in the winter, a coat is sometimes not the best option for me. I prefer a nice - relatively lightweight - blazer. They smarten up every outfit and can be dressy or casual depending on how you style it.
4 - A Pencil Skirt
Everything I've mentioned, including the pencil skirt, seems quite 'formal' but the pencil skirt is a fully transitional piece. You can go from office chic to 50's rockabilly or even sassy siren. I'd wear a pencil skirt (midi length) with boots and a jumper in the winter, with converse and a leather jacket for an edgy day look and with a cropped top and heels for evening.
So there you have my tips on picking transitional pieces! feel free to leave your tips below!
