Student Life: Your Key Considerations

Whether in university or returning to studies after a fair amount of work experience, student life requires a lot of careful prioritization.

With a bigger demand for your focus, effort, and time, studying rules a student’s life. However, this does not mean that you need to be confined to a boring life. Achieving balance is something recommended to students, but is it really that easy? How do you accomplish such a difficult balancing act?

I say it can be achieved with a bit of strategic thinking. Here are my steps to a happy student life!

  1. Be on top of your budget. This is the best time to learn how to budget and use your funds wisely. Budgeting not only gives you oversight on your important spending, it also gives you an idea of how much you can spend for fun! Running out of cash at the end of the month because you spent beyond your means on that one party is such an amateur move!  Get your finances straight by using budgeting apps (like these). They are so helpful and easy to use.
  2. Arrange Accommodations For Function and Fun. My folks used to tell me that living in the middle of a fun environment can take your focus away. I really believe otherwise. I think that if you are in the proximity of cool activities and fun people, you are more likely to get your work done, because you know that they are all just there, easy to catch up to when you can. Back in the day, off-campus activities that help you unwind and/or socialize are hard to find, but now, student accommodations like Iglu offers fabulous communal areas and events when you rent an apartment with them. I think this is really cool. You can socialize then come back to your bedroom to study, or use their other facilities if you need more source of inspiration and focus.
  3. Keep a Trust Circle. Friends keep you sane. However stressful studies get, a support circle always help ease the load. However, studying forms a lot of bonds that can either make or break you. Get together with people that you can trust. Create a trust circle.
