The Pittsburgh Steelers have more questions than answers in 2014. In many ways, that is a dream scenario, as there is really no wrong way for them to attack the draft. That is why there have been no real consensus name attached to them early in the process. As the parade of pre-draft visitors begins, it is always interesting to see what prospects the team may be intrigued with.

On Monday, the Steelers played host to an interesting prospect: Pittsburg State wide receiver John Brown. While Brown may not be a household name, he put on a show at the NFL Scouting Combine and is well known to scouts and general managers.
Not the big receiver that many fans covet, Brown is a speedster that has the ability to take the top off the defense. At 5-10, 180-pounds, Brown recorded the second fastest 40-yard dash (4.34) at the combine, with only Oregon State wide out Brandin Cooks being timed faster (4.33).
This diminutive wide out has a similar skillset to Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton. Both players have elite athleticism, explosiveness, return ability and speed and both were able to put up solid numbers against lesser competition.
The Steelers need to add depth to the wide receiver position and could look to pull the trigger on multiple receivers during the draft. Brown would be an interesting mid-to-late round prospect if he can prove his skills will translate to the NFL.
