Star Products of the Month • July

By Kellilash @Kellilash

It is that time again where I like to share with you all what I have been loving over the past month and there has been a lot. So I have decided to split this up into two posts as I have been away on holiday for half the month and we all know that holiday beauty differs from day to day choices so I thought I would do a holiday round up post after this one to show you what my holiday faves were, hence not to make this post too long. Like I said there has been so many products that have worked wonders for me this month and I couldn't miss any out .... so let me get started with part 1!

I have been on a total fragrance splurge of late as you just get those times when you want a few new smells in your collection but finding scents to make yours can be tricky. So when I find one that blows me away, I have to have it like last month when I cam across the new Chanel Chance Eau Vive and this month I have found Chanel two new friends. I adore Tom Ford scents as they are always heavy, rich and very luxurious, all of which I like. I am violet obsessed so when I excitedly spotted this one, I knew I would love it and I truly fell in love with it from my first inhalation. This is a 'Floriental' scent that is very feminine, very strong and very long lasting. It has Top notes of Honey, Rum, Bergamot, Mandarin; Middle notes of Jasmine, Rose, Orchid, Orange Blossom, Magnolia, Heliotrope, Narcissus and Base notes of Vanilla, Mryth, Suede, Sandalwood. I adore this scent and know it shall be perfect come summer and winter months. It is a luxury scent but shouldn't all scents be luxurious? I think so.

On to luxury scent number two from Byredo. I was so excited to find this in a little beauty boutique whilst on holiday in Palma and moored up at Puerto Portals. This brand is very exclusive and only stocked in selected stores making this brand quite rare and one of those high end brands that not everyone shall know of. I originally purchased my first Byredo scent, Black Saffron two years back whilst in the USA and this has become one of my all time top favouiture scents hence why I was excited to add another one to my collection. Mojave Ghost is a woody, sweet, powdery, warm scent that still stays light and graceful. It has Top notes of Ambrette; Middle notes of Magnolia, Sandalwood, Violet and Base notes of Cedarwood, Chantilly Musk & Crisp Amber. If you want to know more then do check out the website as the entire range is stunning and I highly reccomend should you be wanting to invest in something unique. They maybe a luxury buy but for a 100ml eau de parfum, they are actually very well priced (Other sizes and products are available in this scent). They last not only on the skin but one bottle lasts a very long time! They also make incredible body products and perfume oils should you want to dip your toe a little first. If you spot them, please go have a smell!

I have recently written a full blog post all about this new eyeliner because it is one of the best liquid liners, if not the best, that I have used. Lisa Eldridge helped design this new liquid eyeliner that bends to the perfect angle to help you achieve a perfect line and cat eye flick with minimal effort. This makes doing liquid liner a breeze. If you struggle then you need this, pure and simple! It is a matte jet black liquid that is stay proof, long wearing and even water based. How they managed to create such a great formula that can be removed with just warm water but still manages to stay perfectly put on the eye baffles me, it is magic!

I had been searching high and low for this limited edition eye quad as it was only allocated to certain Chanel counters and countries but as luck would have it, I tracked it down. This is one of those eyeshadow quads where you immediately think 'Hmmm, not sure about the green?" but when you look closer you realise it is so much more. The rippled, desert sand effect is stunning and the shadows are buttery soft and highly pigmented. The shades all have a beautiful soft shimmer to them that glistens in the sun to give the perfect golden bronze look. The sparkling green is a perfect shade and when worn amongst the bronzes, really just sets the colour of your eyes off. You can use this however you like but even the bronze shades alone make the perfect summer smoky eye. If you can still get hold of this then do!

A favourites would not be complete without some lashes and this month it has been all about the Parisian Flare mink lashes by Everblinks. These are very long lashes but oh so fluttery and gorgeous. They really open up the eye and look stunning in photography shots! They are never too much come day or night which is what I love about Everblinks lashes. To see more click and get a special discount code should you want to try them for yourself! You all know by now that I am beyond obsessed with this brand of lashes and are all that I wear. They are honestly that good.

I know I go on about this product a lot but I truly am addicted to them hence I picked up a new pink, shimmery shade. In case you don't know about this lip product, it is a hybrid between a lip colour, gloss and a balm to create the most perfect natural looking gloss that gives you some sexy plumpness to your lips, whilst keeping them hydrated. They contain Wild Mango hence the fruity taste, Shea to deeply moisturise and Liquorice to soothe, treat and protect. They are not tacky, sticky, or slippery but are just the perfect balm, gloss and lip colour all rolled into one. I am wearing this shade above over the top of Charlotte Tilbury Bitch Perfect Lipstick (standard!) and you have to admit, my small lips look a lot plumper!? I want all shades!

Created way back in 1930, this iconic, award winning beauty product has been around for many years and is still incredibly popular today. It is not a product that I have ever personally got into and liked as the smell and the tackiness of it always put me off. This is a multi-use balm that can be used to treat every skin concern such as sunburn, dry lips, rough elbows, calluses etc and makeup artists worldwide use this as a trick to keeping legs, lips and eyelids shiny, brows in place, cuticles manicured and so on! I received this mini luxury size in a recent Glossybox and noticed it was 'fragrance free' hence I decided to try it as a lip balm and I am now obsessed with it. I use it as part of my skincare routine as opposed to my makeup routine and have been using it to treat my lips. I wore this a lot on holiday during the day because it really protects and hydrates well and gives the most incredible shine to your lips. For times like these when you don't want to wear much makeup but need a little something, this makes the best clear gloss. Even though it is fragrance free it does still have a smell to it which I still dislike but when worn on the skin, it totally disappears which is what has made me warm to this and be able to enjoy it at long last!

So there we have a mix of mostly new purchases as the summer brings out the holiday shopping mode in me! Anything catch your eye? Stay tuned for my holiday feature with a few more faves and summer loves to come.

Happy Summer Holidays ;-)
