Star Products of the Month • August

By Kellilash @Kellilash

August has been a great month and for me beauty wise it's been all about great skincare, highlighting and bright lips. I have a good mix of monthly loves with some new discoveries that I have actually owned for some time but had managed to overlook them by sticking to the usual suspects, until now. So without further a do here is a run down of what products had my full attention this past month and ones that I highly recommend checking out.

Elemis Soothing Apricot Toner

Elemis Soothing Apricot Toner

1. ELEMIS Soothing Apricot Toner link!As you may know I have recently changed over to Elemis skincare and I have fallen in love with the brand and the results that the products have given me. I always use toners on my skin and this 'spritz on' apricot toner is just a dream. It not only smells incredible but it gives life and radiance to my complexion and feels so soothing and refreshing. I still love my Caudalie Toner but I have found myself reaching for this one as it's just so easy to mist over your skin, almost like your doing a mini facial. My skin has wanted comfort and radiance this month so this has been the man for that job. It seems to be lasting really well considering I am using it twice a day but I may have already purchased a back up so I don't run out - sign of a good product right there!

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed, Opal

2. BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal link!
Sticking with the whole 'perfect skin' theme and if you didn't know already, Becca really do know how to do perfected/highlighted skin well. They have a whole collection of skin highlighting products that make your skin look like it has been kissed by an angel - this is the only way I can explain to you just how incredible the highlighters are! This shade is the perfect not too yellow, not too golden, not too white kind of shade that is not glittery or sparkly but just pure shimmer that lasts all day and night on the skin. I own a few highlighters but this is my go to one when I want something a bit special to really enhance my skin like I have been all month. It also comes in a liquid form if you prefer to blend with your foundation or like more of a dewy finish, either are totally worth investing in!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer

3. URBAN DECAY Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer link!It may have a crazy long name but this totally lives up to it. I am a huge fan of Urban Decay as you may know and this new concealer has not disappointed me. I actually bought it a while back but somehow overlooked it so I have been alternating between this one and my Nars Creamy concealer and I adore them both. One thing I love about this concealer is the applicator for a start as its wide, flat and very flexible so you can get a lot of product on in one sweep and is easy to apply straight from the wand to the eye area. It gives a demi-matte full coverage that is very buildable and undetectable once you have blended it fully into the skin. You just don't feel like you are wearing concealer at all no matter how many layers you apply. If you need help hiding those sleepless nights or early mornings or want something you could wear alone without a base then definitely check out this one as it shall soon become your best friend!

Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm

4. NUXE Rêve de Miel Lip Balm link!
I know I have talked about this time and time again but I am keeping it real. I use this every single night without fail and in fact when I haven't applied this, I have got dry lips. This has come every where with me this month as you know I love to wear a bright matte lip and without moisturised lips then it would be bye bye matte lipsticks. The thing I love about this balm is that is isn't glossy or shiny so you can apply it with any other lip product without it feeling sticky or slippery. It lasts an eternity as my pot is still going strong after months of use but of course I have back ups so I am never without this gem.

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet matte lipstick, #43 La Favorite

5. CHANEL Rouge Allure Velvet Matte Lipstick in #43 La Favorite link!
Again yes I have mentioned this lipstick loads of times and in true monthly favourite style, this has been my most worn lip this month. In fact I think most of my Instagram pics have featured me wearing this particular shade as so many of you commented on it. What can I say, it is the perfect coral, orange red that suits so many eye make up looks and just makes a look! Although matte, it feels so hydrating on the lips and the pigment lasts a good amount of time. It is a true 'me' shade and I am even thinking of getting a back up now just in case they ever decide to discontinue it as that would be the worst day ever. The fact that the packaging is just pure class and elegance is the cherry on the cake and I LOVE it.

Byredo Parfums Black Saffron, 100ml EDP

6. BYREDO Parfums Black Saffron EDP 100ml link!
I own a lot of fragrance but I always tend to stick with my top 3 favourites and alternate them on a daily basis. This month I have felt like changing it up and have wanted to discover some new scents and see what new ones are out there. Byredo is a serious french perfume brand and Black Saffron is actually what my husband wears but being unisex, I just had to steal a few sprays as it smells incredible and certainly like no other fragrance I have ever come across. There is a reason why I love it so much and that is because it contains some of my all time favourite smells in life, black violet, rose and wood. It is an oriental spicy, which is my kind of scent and if you find this fragrance then please have a smell - it is simply heavenly. Byredo are on the expensive side but this luxury is all worth it, trust me.

Anastasia Beverley Hills Dip Brow Pomade Medium Brown

7. ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS DipBrow Pomade in Medium Brown link!I have spoken about Anastasia brow products before as they really are amazing, the ultimate in my opinion and they help anyone achieve perfect brows. My most used product is the Brow Wiz, the most amazing brow pencil that everyone should own. My newest addition has been this dipbrow pomade, a long lasting, waterproof, easy to use tinted gel-mousse that helps create more defined and more natural looking brows. It's best to use with an angled brow brush and apply small hair like strokes to avoid those 'fuzzy felt' eyebrows and keep it looking natural. It is perfect for any climate as it wont melt, smudge, or disappear at any stage of the day or night. Brows have taken over and they now warrant a make up kit all of their own so I cannot recommend the brand enough for your eyebrow needs. The brow wiz pencil, dipbrow pomade and setting gel are all must haves if you want amazing eyebrows. I always get comments on mine so now you know my secret!

Model Co More Brows Light/medium

8. MODEL CO More Brows in Light/Medium link!
In keeping with the eyebrow theme this hidden gem was actually in a Birchbox but I sadly overlooked it and just threw it in my drawer. I have been wearing a slightly lighter brow of late as I have changed my hair shade so I grabbed this one just to soften the color as I set them into place. This is actually a very clever tinted brow gel that contains tiny hair fibres that cling onto your own brow hairs to thicken them up and add some color - its amazing! What I love is the teeny tiny wand that gives you full control over your eyebrows and grooms them to perfection. If you need to lighten up your brow pencil or pomade, especially at the front of the brow then this does the job perfectly as well as give you thicker looking brows and I for one am in love with it. This is an ideal product if you don't have time to spend on your brows because just a few applications of this shall make it look like you did have the time.

I may have been a bit 'shopping' happy of late so expect lots of new favourites to come and make sure to follow my Instagram as I post daily pictures of products that I am excited for!
So tell me, whats been your favourite?
