Spain Are Tops in a Thrilling Euro 2012 Final

By Stizzard

It was a thrilling final to end the Euro 2012 Tournament in Kiev last night and once again spain has left us open-mouthed with some beautiful football.

Andrea Pirlo and company could only watch as Spain thrashed italy 4-0. It was a game dominated by Spain and they certainly did their homework on their rivals. They made Italy look like amateurs and that’s no mean feat. Spain had to stop Pirlo from dominating the midfield and they did just that.

It’s the first time in football history that a country has won the Eurocup, the World Cup and then the Eurocup again in a row. This magical threesome for Spain will go down in history as one of Spain’s greatest football eras. Gone are the days when Spain were usually dumped out in the quarter finals – it looks like Spain are here to dominate for a while yet.

And while Spain lifted the coveted trophy all Italy could do was cry like babies. I thought that Italy were going to bring it to Spain but in the end was quite embarrassed for them. Spain’s dominance of the ball make anyone look tame compared to the flair that the iberian masters have cultured over the years.

Goals in the first half came from Manchester City’s David Silva and Barca’s new signing Jordi Alba. This pretty much finished the italians off but there was more to come in the second half. Second half strikes came from Juan Mata and Chelsea team mate Fernando Torres.

It was a terrific final to watch and just shows how dominant Spain is.
