The inaugural column covers important papers (and issues ) on Indian medicine published in the month of April 2013. From Novartis losing its patent to the  first hip fracture incidence study from India  and the reported unusually high rates of cancer incidence in what was known as the “cotton belt of Punjab” it covers varied themes. It  also covers Kangri Cancer and the IAP’s consensus statement on “Integrated Management of Severe Acute Malnutrition” and the review on drug induced Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis in the Indian population.
