SK-II Facial Treatment Clear Lotion – Photos, Details and Review

By Kasthuri

Hello!

I will confess – I’ve used SK-II products, notably the Facial Treatment Essence, the serums and even the cleansing oil and foaming cleansers for several years (the foaming cleanser is highly addictive) but I never really bothered with the Facial Treatment Clear Lotion. Toners are an essential part of my skincare routine and I tone nightly too, before applying skincare. I never ever bought the SK-II Facial Treatment Clear Lotion, always opting for a normal or anti-acne toner.

That was until I kept hearing raves about the Facial Treatment Clear Lotion – the raves I heard from some of my friends went as far as to say some of them skipped the Facial Treatment Essence in favour of the Facial Treatment Clear Lotion. Now that made me sit up – how could anyone prefer supporting cast over the star? It’s just not heard of.

At a Metro 20% storewide sale some time ago, I decided to try the Facial Treatment Clear Lotion – I ended up purchasing the larger bottle of 215ml at S$104 which was more value for money. I figured that it would be a worthwhile investment since SK-II is a staple in my skincare regimen and it wouldn’t hurt to incorporate one more product.

The 215ml version comes packaged in the same frosted cylindrical flacon as the Facial Treatment Essence while the regular-sized bottle is a flatter, plastic bottle, similar to the miniature pictured in the second photo below.

I am so so so glad I picked this up – it is worth every cent. I use it nightly, with or without SK-II (I’ve used it with Philosophy Hope In A Jar Night, Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair and Clarins night creams too) without any untoward reaction.

The lotion is clear, like water and feels light and refreshing – it has a milder, more pleasant scent than the Facial Treatment Essence.

In addition to Pitera, it also contains AHAs that clarify skin to leave it fresher and gently exfoliated – primed to receive additional skincare benefits from the other products that follow. All you need to do is apply some to a cotton pad and wipe your skin, concentrating on problem areas, the T-zone and U-zone.

Nightly use of the SK-II Facial Treatment Clear Lotion has left my skin softer and smoother and noticeably brighter, even without makeup. I have a somewhat large scar on my right upper lip – a cluster of scars from a recurrent breakout after threading and I daresay the scar looks far lighter in these last 4-5 weeks since I started on this. The scar is still there but I find myself using lesser concealer to cover the mark. My current skincare routine hasn’t really included any whitening or brightening product in the last month or 2 given I was trying out SK-II’s Stempower Essence and a variety of other skincare. Which leaves me to think that the inclusion of the Facial Treatment Clear Lotion has really made some difference. The rest of the skin looks clear and fresh – something I am really enjoying after a while. Even Mom, who’s really the judge of everything, pointed out that my skin looks fresher and clearer.

The SK-II Facial Treatment Clear Lotion has worked its way into my heart and I intend to keep using it. It’s a pity SK-II’s instructions indicate that the eye area should be avoided (else I’d be plastering my undereye circles with this!).

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful week ahead!
