Sixteen Weeks

By Heathernichole

How far along? Sixteen weeks and six days

Baby's size? Baby girl is the size of an action figure this week. I went to the doctor's twice this week and I was told she weighed six ounces as of Friday, December 2nd.

Baby's nickname? Baby and baby girl. We still use her name occasionally as well.

Maternity clothes? Wearing mostly sweats and maternity tops. I really need new bras and maternity pants, preferably jeans. It's hard because with Christmas quickly approaching, I feel like I should be buying for others and not myself. Exercise? Same as last week. I got in a good full body workout with my trainer and I did lots of walking. My body gets so achy after being on my feet now for too long. I'm getting a little nervous about my half marathon in January. I'm definitely going to be walking all 13.1 miles but I'm worried about how sore my body will be after.

Sleep: I'm still getting in eight hours or close to it. I wake up at the exact same times every night to pee and it's really annoying. Especially when I have to wake up at 5:50 because I know Stephen's alarm is going to go off at 6:20 so I'm never able to go back to sleep after that.

Best moment this week: Well, I was able to see baby girl on Friday during an ultrasound and I was able to hear her heart beat on Monday. Both of those moments were my highs. Her heart beat was 150 beats per minute.

Miss anything? Nothing at this time.
Movement: Not as much movement this week. I think she's sleeping a lot more. She slept through most of my ultrasound on Friday, which was very odd. The last ultrasounds we've had she was jumping all over the place.
Food cravings: Ice cream was a strong craving this week. I'm usually not an ice cream person but I did make Stephen stop on his way home one night to grab me dessert. Other than that, I have yet to have a craving where I'm like, "I need this right now!" Still waiting for those to happen and see what crazy things I crave.

Anything making you queasy or sick: We went out for Mexican food on Saturday night and the salsa got to me quickly. I had to take tums at the dinner table. It was more spicy than I'm used to and I felt it in my chest and upper stomach right away. I'm slowly learning what foods to avoid. So far anything with the least bit of spice must be out and anything with tomato.
Gender: GIRL!
Symptoms: Still an aching body after being on my feet too long. I'm starting to get hungry much more often. If I have bacon and eggs for breakfast I can make it until lunch. If I have cereal, like this morning, I'm starving by 10am. Literally to the point of nausea if I don't eat something right away. And terrible acne still. I spoke with my midwife about it and she said I have my little girl to thank for the acne and I'm producing more estrogen than I ever would in my lifetime if I would have never gotten pregnant.
Wedding rings on or off? Still on
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy but I have noticed myself being way too emotional every now and then. Crying for no reason whatsoever. I'm sure it's completely normal.

Looking forward to: Hopefully my acne calming down soon and I keep thinking about playing Barbies with my daughter one day. I can't wait!
