Silent Bats?

By Kipper @pghsportsforum
I know it's spring training but the number of runs the lineup is not producing is astounding thus far in spring. If we can appreciate the pitchers result can we question the complete lack of offense thus far?
And don't tell me it's early! I know that!!!
It's Spring Training. Cant get excited about anything whether its good or bad. These guys are working on adjustments and using Spring Training to do different things. Look at Morton the other day. He was working on his mechanics throughout his 3 innings and most likely they had him laying off certain pitches. Those arent things you'd see during the regular season.
In ST coaches use this time to work on batters swings and stances and various other things. They might even have them specifically laying off FB's and concentrating on breaking balls or any offspeed stuff.
I wouldn;t be worried at all. As long as guys are healthy entering the Regular Season, that is all that is important right now. YThis is also a nice time to see some of the prospects mixed in with the MLB'ers that we dont get a chance to see. Those guys are trying to make an impression despite not being able to utilize their full arsenal.
When you get worried about bats not doing well, just remember that when they rake it - Brad Eldred... it doesnt mean much either
