Self-Transcendence 50K & 100K Race
24 years ago, in Paris, we began the 100K Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence Race and then 7 years ago we began the 50K race. Four years ago we changed the location: from the Bois de Boulogne we went to the Bois de Vincennes. Everything there is a bit better.

On the 1 mile loop we got this year 23 runners on the 50K and 21 finishers. For the 100K 18 finished out of 24. The weather was nice in the morning and then at noon it began raining a little… we had a shower around 5 or 6pm. It was not too bad in fact, except when it was the time to give the trophies… under the water!
In spite of the rain the runners were really enthusiastic and the helpers truly self-giving.

Two running stars came to the 50K race. Anne Cecile Fontaine (24 hour race double world champion) who won in 4:20:44 – breaking the course record for the women – and her husband (member of the French 24hour race team) Emmanuel Fontaine who won and also broke the course record for the men in 3:38:45.
In the 100K race, first place was Emmanuel Vincent in a time of 8:25:58 and in second place (8:49:22) was a 60 year old runner, Alain Grasset. Ladies winner was Colette Bonnel.
