Hot news today and actually as it has been over the past few weeks. The fog has cleared (metaphorically as it is incredibly drizzly and foggy today in Edinburgh) and the people have voted and decided. With a 44.7% voting YES and 55.3% voting NO, the result is clear with the incredible 84.59% turn out by voters. I cast my vote two weeks ago via post before we flew off to Palma (lots more posts coming) and I actually didn’t discuss my decision with anyone until yesterday. Having heard so much about the decision and about voting (I was definitely going to vote) I was going to vote NO until it came to three days before I voted. If Scotland had gone forward with enough confidence in itself and as an independent country I believe that we would have found a way forward. In the end I placed my cross by the YES box. I voted YES to give Scotland the chance to stand on its own feet however the people have voted and we all know the results of the referendum.
