Werner Herzog: Not impressed with his cleaning lady

Werner Herzog is the director who brings us madness, chaos and everything in between, from Grizzly Man to Bad Lieutenant to his latest, Into the Abyss. Now The Sabotage Times has brought to you the chance to see the great man’s notes to his cleaning lady. (Well, a satirical version. We’re not suggesting they’re actually his notes. But Periscope would like them to be.)

The cleaner, Rosalina, is taken squarely to task: “You constantly revile me with your singular lack of vision. Be aware, there is an essential truth and beauty in all things,” says Werner. After reminding her that the dust behind the DVD shelves in the rumpus room is “unacceptable”, he suggests “I want you to be real in everything you do. If you cannot be real, then a semblance of reality must be maintained. A real semblance of the fake real, or ‘real’”.

“The situation regarding spoons remains unchanged. If I see one, I will kill it.”
