The Patriots recorded a number of unusual stats on Sunday with their win over the Steelers. Notwithstanding the 55-31 blowout, here are some stats the team recorded that impact the record book.
1) The last time the Patriots scored 86 combined points in a contest with an opponent? Oct. 16, 1964, the Boston Patriots played the Oakland Raiders to a 43-43 tie.
2) Patriots forced a turnover for the 36th straight game. It is the longest active streak in the NFL. The NFL record for most consecutive games with a turnover since the merger in 1970 is 71 by Philadelphia from 1985-1990.
3) Patriots become the third team in NFL history with three players who recorded 120+ receiving yards and one or more scores in a game.
Rob Gronkowski (9/143/1TD), Aaron Dobson (5/130/2TDs) and Danny Amendola (4/122-1). It is the third time in NFL history that a team has had three receivers top the 120 yard mark and score a touchdown in a game.
The Patriots score more points (55) and more yards (610) than any team in Pittsburgh Steelers history.
