Salon Melbourne 2014

By Sparklingker @sparklingker

Before heading to Salon Melbourne last Sunday, the hubs and I had a nice lunch over at Southbank. After lunch, I headed over to Salon Melbourne while the hubs went furniture shopping. The crowd as expected was crazy, so many people!! You can read about last years experience at Salon Melbourne here.

I stopped by OPI to have a look at the bargains that was available. It was $10 for one or buy six and get one free. I didn’t get anything because I wasn’t patient enough to wait around.

Klara Cosmetics was there this year. I didn’t know they had such a large range of makeup until I saw their store.

Orly was $10 for one or $25 for three. I was more interested in Orly than OPI because I’ve never tried any Orly nail products before, unbelievable hey?? Plus when I was there, the lovely lady at Orly was really friendly and helpful.

Here’s a photo of the crowd surrounding the Lime Crime store. IT WAS INTENSE!! I waited 35mins in that crowd to get served. Girls were pushing and shoving like it was free. The makeup were quite cheap with palettes $25, lipsticks $14, lip glosses $14 and eyeliners $11.

This is what I got:

  • Orly Nailtrition $8.33 ($25 for 3)
  • Orly Bonder $8.33 ($25 for 3)
  • Orly Flash Dry $8.33 ($25 for 3)
  • Lime Crime Eyeliner Lazuli $11
  • Lime Crime Eyeliner Reason $11

I’m on a budget which is why I didn’t buy much. I could only get the items I really really needed. The Lime Crime stuff was not a ‘need’ but because I waited 35mins in the crazy crowd, I had to get something to make my time worthwhile. While I was at Salon Melbourne, I also had the opportunity of attending the Rae Morris master makeup class. It was a very intimate class of about 30ish people. In the session, Rae gave us her tips, tricks and secrets. I took a lot of notes in the class, so if you are interested let me know and I can write-up a post on what I learnt. I had an awesome day at Salon Melbourne and I’m looking forward to attending next years.

Did you stop by Salon Melbourne and what did you buy?
