When Ronan Conroy hit a low pint in his life, he responded like a musician: he wrote a handful of bleak songs to deal with it. Blood Dread. Aided by two of his longtime friends, multi-instrumentalist Charles Nieland and drummer Justin Wierbonksi he laid down five tracks for Blood Dread, an EP that is kind of morose, but also serves a therapy to overcome his sorrow and inner dread.
Conroy's signature baritone comes close to breaking into tears, but never becomes sordid. He used his grief to come to terms with himself and the outside world. Blood Dread is a dark journey, but Conroy is finding his a way out of the maze where his demons were closing in upon him.
