Baahubali: The Conclusion is just a month away, but before we witness the conclusion Anand Neelakantan has given us another reason to love this franchise. The Rise of Sivagami is a prequel of this movie series. It narrates the story of the Raja Mata Sivagami. Though the story does feel different from the movie it has its own pros.
Neelakantan is famous for his mythical authorials, he has done a great job in Rise of Sivagami as well. The story is as epic as the Baahubali movies. Anand Neelakantan's narration adds extra color to it. The initial pages were spent in introducing the characters, but it doesn't bore.
The journey of Sivagami and her emotions are narrated well. One might feel the emotions of the lead characters by themselves. There are pages that will make few readers cry. The gripping narration plays in favor of the novel.
Anand Neelakandan's detailing is good as usual. His detailing implants Mahishmathi in readers mind. The lucid language and simple narration makes it easy for the readers to enjoy the novel. A little extra care in the conversation between characters would have been better.
On the whole Rise of Sivagami is the must read for myth lovers. One of the finest books by Anand Neelakandan.
