Rimmel London Sun Shimmer Instant Tan

Hey gorgeous people, I know this product has been around for some time now. I first discovered it after a friend recommended it following a very unfortunate and messy experience I encountered with the Fake Bake spray tan in a bottle. Whilst my very pale skin took to the Fake Bake very well, in fact it was probably my best shade yet, my white bathroom didn't and it ended up a funny shade of brown which was not fun to clean up after! Although this isn't a lasting fake tan as such (it washes off after 1 use), it is a lovely treat for a night out once in a while and gives a gorgeous natural tan without making you look like a pumpkin. I chose the matte finish in medium as although I am pale, Im not quite ghostly white and tan easily in the summer. If only I had the time and patience to make tanning part of my routine the I would opt for a more lasting tan but as I don't this meets my tanning needs for special occasions and nights out.It comes in a tube bottle at 125ml for under a fiver most places. For such a cheaper product initially I did not have such high hopes but all doubt was soon eliminates once I tried the actual product. Although it looks quite a scary dark shade it blends a lot and you can build it up pretty quickly due to the fast drying nature of it. But this also means that you don't have to wait ages to get dressed and can pretty much get dressed 5-10 mins after applying with no transfer.I do recommend using a mitt to apply, you can pick these up for a couple of pounds at Boots, or Superdrug even Primark sell them for a pound and they pretty much work the same. I usually use mine  a few times and then just throw it away and buy a new one, but you can easily wash them after uses. This is after 1 coat. As you can see it is only 1-2 shades darker than a my natural color which after a couple which allows you to build up to the desired shade. This was dry almost instantaneously. However, with that in mind you do have to work quickly between applying the product and blending as the following picture shows it can stain and leave marks if you leave it unblended for a short period of time which is its downfall. I have done this on purpose to show the effect :)With fake tans I know the most common complaint is the smell. I am guessing that as this is not a lasting tan then this is why it does not have the usual biscuit scent but smells almost like a moisturiser, really pleasant and refreshing. When washing off you need to ensure you wash a couple of times, you will see a little mess in the shower. I wouldn't advise sleeping in this as it could transfer in the night so be prepared to wash off before you go to bed, which can be a little inconvenient to some. If you are really pale then you can mix this with a dab of your favorite body moisturiser and it tones down the color a little and also helps it to blend without streaking. I also would not advise going out in this if heavy rain if you are using this as it may cause it to steak if you get wet...For a once in a while tan and for such a reasonable price in comparison to other brands I think this product is amazing. Have you tried this and what did you think of the results?
