Revlon Age Defying Spa Face Illuminator (010) Bare Light : Review, Swatch, FOTD

Hey everyone!

Today I'm reviewing a liquid highlighter that I have loving lately from Revlon - Age Defying Spa Face Illuminator in the shade 010 Bare Light

Price : Rs 850 for 30 ml

What Revlon says -
  • Boosts natural radiance for a fresh, luminous glow
  • Light reflecting micronized crystals illuminate on contact
  • Sheer color in a lightweight, oil-free formula
  • SPF 18
My experience with the productRevlon Age Defying Spa Face Illuminator comes in a transparent tube packaging with a brush top head for easy application. The brush head leads to a lot of product wastage, as you would need a very tiny amount for each application and the product gets stuck at the bristles of the brush that needs to clean up properly to prevent bacterial build-up. The brush head has a ON and OFF mechanism, by turning it towards the arrow. This particular way avoids leakage of product when you are traveling with the product. I would have preferred a nozzle or pump tube applicator! I like using this mixed with foundation for an overall subtle glow. The Spa Face Illuminator is runny, sheer liquid that is moisturising yet non-sticky texture and easy to blend. It does not gets clumsy and sits on top of the face making it look shiny, but blends easily giving a natural, soft glow to the face. (010) Bare Light has a flesh tone color and contains very minute champagne-gold shimmers. The shimmer is very fine and non-gritty and gets uniformly distributed with base liquid and does not accentuate the pores if applied in small quantities. Its a universal highlighter and would work for Indian Skin-tones! It adds a touch of luminosity and subtle shine to the skin that looks very natural. The texture is mildly moisturizing but does not make the skin oily/greasy. I would rather ask oily skin girls to avoid these and go for powder highlighters. The illuminator does not dry down the skin rather it stays dewy unless set with some pressed/loose powder. The illuminator stays on my dry skin for good 7-8 hours giving a soft, natural, dewy glow to the face. I mix it with my foundation for an overall natural glow or apply this on the high points of my face for highlighting. It blends easily with fingers and this is one of my favorite products for winters! Currently I'm testing the Revlon Photoready Skinlights Illuminator but quite unhappy with the staying period. However, the packaging of the newer version is a hit for me since it has nozzle head that controls the quantity required. Will be reviewing it soon!Overall, its a lovely highlighter for girls who like sheer, natural illuminating products. My only issue is the packaging. The brush head applicator seems to be quite un-hygienic and I would have preferred a better packaging. I still however like using this because of its staying power and subtle glow it delivers. I would recommend this to beginners as the formula is light, natural and easily blendableRating : 4.5/5
