Phew! That was an intense weekend we just had – with all the Election news and rallies going on, I’m not sure if it was just the haze that got me all hot and bothered. Anyhoos, I’ve heard that coconut water can cool the bodeh down. I may not exactly be drinking it, but hey, maybe I’ll try with applying it to the skin in the form of this oil-free foundation that Too Faced that has said hairy nut’s water listed as one of its ingredients :D

The Packaging: It’s quite a simple and yet stylish frosted glass bottle with gold embossed words on both the body and the click-on cap which covers the pump dispenser.
The Scent: Nil.
The Texture: I’d expected something more watery considering that it’s supposed to be oil free (that, as well as the coconut water ingredient), but it’s surprisingly not that runny. It spreads well and easily without pulling on the skin or dripping unnecessarily.
The Coverage: Pretty decent. I’d give it a 7/10 – most major blemishes are covered, while dark eye circles require a few more coats to cover.
The Finish: Now this is a relatively “moist” foundation – it goes on seemingly matte when you apply it, but after a couple of minutes, it morphs into a rather dewy finish, BUT it’s not overly shiny/dewy. I’d say it’s a rather good combination of matte-dewy – at certain portions of the face such as the cheekbones and the nose bridge, it has some shine that’s akin to a highlighter (without looking overly oily), while on the drier portions of my face such as the cheeks, it settles rather nicely into a dewy-matte finish. However, over time (say 4-6 hours), it all somewhat morphs into a mostly-dewy finish that can “trap” hair that is accidentally blown onto your face.
The Verdict: Overall, I’d say it’s not too bad – it gives decent coverage, it keeps skin moist (and is therefore suitable for those with slightly drier skin types of those with combi skintypes), and the best part of all? The oxidisation is minimal – there were some slight potholes of oxidised foundation spotted at the chin area after about 6-8 hours of wear, but some slight dabbing with a sheet of tissue paper should do the trick. I like that it helps keep my cheek area moist (damn you, dry cheeks!), but not a huge fan of how it gets slightly oily and dewy (after extended wear of 5 hours or more) at the T-zone. Worth a try if you’re looking for a foundation that’s oil-free to help the skin breathe better, and gives medium coverage :)
