Review: My Beauty Diary Strawberry Yogurt Mask

By Herugliness
Hello! ~ I noticed I never reviewed any product from My Beauty Diary before, so it is about time! This is a review of the My Beauty Diary Strawberry Yogurt Mask This is a sheet mask, just like basically every mask available on the Asian market. I wonder whether they even have the kind of one-time usage masks in small sachets which you get here everywhere. I know they have masks in big pots, but other than that sheet masks are the only kind of one-time-usage masks they offer. My Beauty Diary is a Taiwanese brand, which focuses on sheet masks, though they have also a small selection of other beauty products like for example cleansers. Their sheet masks originally come in packs of 10, though you can often find stores that re-sell them in single units.
Description:
My Beauty Diary Strawberry Yogurt Mask whitens and refines skin and control excessive sebum secretion. Natural strawberry extract contains AHA, minerals and enzyme to leave skin clean, fair and fresh. Yogurt extract balances sebum secretion and tightens pores. Arbutin leaves skin luminous and helps enhance skin’s moisture level. The mask is suitable for normal skin and combination skin.

How to use:
After cleansing and toning steps, tear off the package of the mask and gently place it on the face. Leave on for about 20 – 30 minutes, then remove the mask. Massage the remains, if any, into the skin. Follow with normal skin care procedure.
The sheet mask comes in a simple white sachet with small cute strawberries on it. The whole pack of this is pink. The description on it is in Chinese, though I bought mine from Korea, so they have a Korean label pasted over the description. (Not that either of them would really help me).  I was hoping for the sheet mask to smell fruity, but it it only has the same fermented-fruit-like scent I have already encountered with other Asian sheet masks. The sheet mask is folded inside the sachet and what I really like a lot is that there is a foil with the same shape as the mask inside it, which makes it easier to unfold the mask. I probably would not have paid much attention to it if I had not fought with other sheet masks before and almost tore them apart in my attempt to unfold them. Like all sheet masks these are ill-fitting on my face. With this one, when placed so it fits around my eyes, my nose and mouth seem to be far too high up in my face, so I have to fold it around a bit. My nose is, like always, also way too long to be covered by this mask. But apart from this I have the feeling it still fitted the best and sticked the best to my face from all the sheet masks I have tried so far. At least I did not feel the need to adjust it every 3 minutes. The mask felt very cool and instantly refreshing. You are supposed to leave it on the face for 20-30 minutes, but I have to admit that I never pay much attention to the time and usually leave on my face masks much longer. I never had any problems with this before. However, when I took off the My Beauty Diary Strawberry Yogurt Mask after probably double the time I was supposed to leave it on, my skin was slightly reddened. It did not burn or stitch and the redness was completely gone after a while and my skin felt smooth and refreshed, but there seems to be something inside the mask that irritates my skin if left on for too long, so you better stick to the 20 minutes only if you have sensitive skin. If it weren't for this this would have been my favorite sheet mask so far, simply because it fitted the best.
