Review: Murad Exfoliating Acne Treatment Gel and the Murad Acne Spot Treatment

By Sourlemoneyes

My skin hasalways been my biggest and most frustrating beauty related issue. A few years ago I started eating healthy and drinking a lot of water and that helped great deal. Since then, my acne has been under control, but recently I started breaking out after an over enthusiastic facial waxing session left my skin inflamed. So, I decided to try the Murad line of skin care productsbecause I had heard greatthings about them. I intended only to purchase the spot treatment but was advised/hustled by the Sephora guy to pick up the acne gel as well.So far I have been using them both together every day and as a result, my skin  has cleared up pretty fast and my face does not feel dry or irritated, which is impressive. My skin felt smooth and hydrated throughout the entire process.

Step 1: The Treatment GelThe gel acts as an all over acne treatment, but not as harsh and concentrated as the spot treatment. It has a light feel and an ultra thin consistency. It works by exfoliating the outer layer of dead skin with Salicylic and Glycolic Acid and then the Licorice and Aloe Vera sooths and moisturizes. This is ideal for someone who has all over acne and not just a few problem areas, because of that, I could have honestly skipped this step, but I was told that I needed to buy both for it to work.
Step 2: The Spot TreatmentThis spot treatment did the job without causing my skin to peel! The fast acting formula sinks deep into the pores and the sulfur is the main ingredient that eliminates the breakout. I applied both products after cleansing and before going to bed. In the morning my makeup went on smoothly, only the pimple itself had been targeted and dried out. Even so, there was no inflammation or rough patches.
