Review : Guerlain Gloss D'Enfer Maxi Shine Gloss in Gold Tchlack

By Neerajnavare

Guerlain India has been really kind to give me this amazing gloss for reviewing. Being an ardent Guerlain fan (as you all know) I could not resist putting my hands on some more of them (I got Praline Blop and Rouge Shebam from Shoppers Stop as well).  If you are looking for a lip gloss that has this Bare Lip Sensation, does not feel sticky and do not want the heavy feel of wearing a lip gloss then this may be your destination. What an amazing gloss! It comes in 2 textures - shine and shimmer and all are intense and beautiful. I was given this lovely gloss called 400 Gold Tchlack for reviewing and here it is. I loved this name. Its so different just as the gloss is. Lets see how the gloss itself looks like..
WHAT GUERLAIN HAS TO SAY!! What it is:

A lip gloss with intense color, high shine, and a plumping effect.
What it does:
Guarantee your lips a shimmering, radiant, and plumping finish. The oil composition creates a moisturizing barrier to ensure an intense softness. Additionally, each shade presents varying degrees of coverage and pigment intensity. The perfect partner for a desirable, appealing smile, Maxi Shine offers tailor-made effects for beautifully enhanced lips.
PACKAGING
It comes in a sleek black cardboard case printed in antique gold (all ingredients and necessary information). The plastic tube is transparent with a black top embossed in 'Guerlain' logo that stretches out as lovely doe-foot applicator that dispenses the exact amount of product to impart a high shine and high shimmer. FORMULA
The gloss does not feel sticky at all. This is something so different from other companies' glosses that I have tried. The least sticky one I felt was Shiseido The Makeup Lipgloss but this one even surpassed that. This gloss contains intense sparkle and shine than more of pigmentation. The shimmer in the product is not at all gritty and feels so light weight on the lips. It has a thin and non sticky consistency that glides very well on the lips and drenches the lips in gorgeous shine. It also helps in conditioning the lips (which is a part of Guerlain's philosophy of lip products) and they do feel soft even after the gloss wears off. The residual effect of the gloss is just remnants over a few sparkles on the lips with a cushion like softness. The gloss is so non sticky that one may not experience their hair sticking to their lips. COLOR
Gold Tchlack is an intensely sparkly gloss with gold, white and champagne colored sparkles in a very very light yellow beige base which looks almost clear when swatched. It applies so well and so beautifully. Wear it alone or on a lovely lipstick it does look fabulous on all skin tones. I also tried it on eye lids to create moist glam looking lids that have a disco feel and to my astonishment it do not budge or dissolve the kohl and shadow underneath. Better than most of the glosses.
SIZE AND PRICE
A 7.5 ml (which is decent for Guerlain) gloss would cost 1700 INR.  RECOMMENDATION
This gloss is decently priced (according to international markets as well) when compared to department brands especially Christian Dior and Lancome. It does not compete in any sector because its way different than what I have ever seen. I would recommend all to try and swatch the 20 shades that they have launched. This gloss is worth the splurge. Hope you liked the review. Do let me know in the comments. Till then, Ciao
