I know I’ve said it once, but I will say it again – there are very few brands that have earned my undying trust, and belif is one of them. I do try tonnes of products on my skin for my review purposes, but I usually do it with some sense of trepidation – “will this give me pimples?”, “will this cause cystic acne?” and “will I get rashes?” are just a few of the thoughts running through my head as I gingerly dab the first few droplets of a product onto my skin for the very first time. Thankfully with Belif, I never have that sort of hesitation. Now I know that the packaging may not be the most attractive, but it really does work well.

The Packaging: It comes in an angular glass bottle with a stoppered top (remove before first usage), and a screw-on cap. (again, what’s with the glass bottles for such products – somebardy tell me whyyyyyyy~~~)
The Scent: It has a herbal scent that sort of reminds me of a cough mixture. It’s not unpleasant though.
The Application: You can choose to apply it onto your face using just your fingertips, or using a cotton pad, onto freshly-cleansed skin.
The Texture: It’s a watery liquid that’s quickly and easily absorbed into the skin. As you can tell from the photos above, there’s no sticky/greasy afterfeel.
The Verdict: This is a concentrated extract of Chamomile, which is said to have soothing and skin-healing properties. To me, I use this as a treatment toner – similar to Sum 37 Secret Programming Essence, Kiehl’s Iris Activating Treatment Essence, IOPE Bio Essence Intensive Conditioning etc etc. It leaves the skin feeling softer and more hydrated, but more importantly, in the long run, it helps up your skin’s health levels. You’ll find that your skin is less prone to redness and irritation (I have a good friend who attests to this!), and there’s barely any breakout caused by this. I highly recommend this for all skin types – whether you’ve got sensitive, oily, dry, or combi skin, this is one product that may not seem to have any instant benefits, but is more of an investment in good skin in the long haul. (Psst: I even heard that this product has sold out, so go get yours if you manage to find a bottle!)
