Review | Beefeater Spring Menu

By Livedwithlove @kerrymarie
Beefeater have recently launched a new Spring Menu and when we were invited along to review it, I couldn't say no! We have eaten in our local Beefeater once before and really loved it so we were looking forward to trying it once again.
Starters

We all had starters as we were pretty hungry (as always!).. Warren had the Smoked Salmon on Toast which was 'smoked salmon and creamy smashed avocado with a soft poached egg, a hint of chilli and toasted brown bread'. When it came out it looked amazing and Warren said it tasted just as good.. it was a very generous portion for a starter as well!

I got the Sticky Duck Wings; 'Crispy duck wings coated in a sweet & sticky Asian-style glaze with sesame seeds, red chilli and coriander'. Again I was surprised at the portion size for a starter, (not that I'm complaining!) and the taste was SO good! They were cooked perfectly and the flavours were just right and as explained on the menu.. even Warren and Sienna kept pinching bits!

One thing I love about the Beefeater, is that they offer healthier and more varied options for kids.. not many places would offer steak and chips on the kids menu! For the starter, Sienna got the veggie sticks with sour cream and chive dip and of course ate every last stick!

For her main, she went for the Pop-in chicken with chips and beans.. not as healthy but I let her off as she had veggies to start ;) She had a lot of chips so she didn't eat them all but she did well with the rest and said it was yummy!

Warren went for one of the lighter options, the Ultimate steak salad; 'sizeable salad comes with slices of 6oz* chargrilled flat iron steak tossed with grilled peppers, courgette, red onion, mixed leaf salad, tomatoes and a French dressing'. It looked so good when it came out and tasted delicious too, we loved how it wasn't your standard salad of just lettuce, tomato and cucumber.. the addition of the grilled peppers and courgette was a nice change and added to the flavor. The steak was also cooked exactly how he asked.

I got the Surf & Turf; 'the ultimate pairing of seafood and meat with our lean, juicy 8oz Sirloin topped with half shell garlic king prawns'. My steak was also cooked perfectly to how I asked and was so flavoursome. the prawns were also cooked well and I loved the presentation of it. I also loved how you could choose from fries or chunky chips.

We all got dessert as we had to try them! Sienna went for the jelly and ice cream which of course she loved; it's a classic for kids! I got the Raspberry cheesecake and Warren got the Salted toffee apple crumble. Both were really good and flavourful, my raspberry compote wasn't too sharp or too sweet, it was the perfect balance with the cheesecake base. Warren loved his crumble and said the salted toffee flavor was there but wasn't overpowering which was nice.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Beefeater once again, not only was the food good and the portion sizes generous but the staff were lovely and accommodating and the wait time wasn't bad at all either. We will definitely be back, it may even become our 'go-to' restaurant!
