Review and Swatches of Physicians Formula Extreme Shimmer Disco Glam Kajal + Liquid Liner Duo

By Kwilliford @ExquisiteEczema
If you read my last review, you know that the Extreme Shimmer Palette in Glam Nude left a bad taste in my mouth.  I liked certain aspects of this liner, but I don't like this product enough to keep it.

This product consists of three dual ended eyeliners. One end is a liquid liner and the other is a kajal liner. There is a black, gold, and a bronze. These liners do contain some shimmer, but not on the same level as the eyeshadow palettes. You are supposed to be able to create a variety of looks with these liners and the overall concept is nice. However, I experienced a few hiccups. I wonder if I just bought a bad batch because I have heard others say good this about this set.

The kajal liners are not bad formula wise. They are soft and smooth, but they don't slide all over the place. I didn't experience any transfer or smudging when I wore them along my lower lash line. They didn't tug at my eyes, but I did have to go over the line a few times to achieve opacity. The gold kajal had almost no pigment, but the formula was the same. Like the black kajal, the bronze shade had to be built up to opacity. All in all, they were not terrible. I did, however, have a lot of problems with the liquid liners.

So, the liquid liners just made me angry. If I cannot even do a simple wing with a liner, we are not going to get a long well. The formula was so thick and goopy that it was almost impossible for me to work with. It was difficult to get an even, opaque line. The pigment of all three liners also left a lot to be desired. Again, the gold was almost invisible. The black and the bronze were patchy and did not pack a punch in any way.

I expected the packaging to be problematic, but it wasn't. I tend to get a little nervous when I see glitter on packaging because my initial thought is "Oh no. Glitter everywhere." That wasn't the case, though. The packaging was lightweight and it did not hinder application.
This trio is $11.99 and Ulta currently has Physicians Formula BOGO 50% off. I have also seen these at CVS.  I am not sure about Walgreens or any other drugstores.  If you are interested in these, it might be worth trying them out. I may have just gotten a bad batch and the liquid liners in your set could perform a lot better.
