Anddd I’m back! Sorry for the hiatus guys – I know, I know, it’s entirely my fault for zipping off to Melb (if you’ve been following me on IG). After 10 days of nonstop shopping and eating, I yam back, armed and loaded with lots of reviews for y’all :)
Now those who aren’t new to this blog (and me) will know that I’m somewhat of an irrepressible beauty addict – I cart back beauty products by 10kg boxes from Korea, and this time, I carted back lots of goodies from Aesop, Down Under. I know that it’s not a new brand, but somehow, I never got around to trying it. Here’s my very first product from Aesop – their Parsley Seed Facial Cleanser.

The Packaging: It comes (most unfortunately) in a glass bottle, which makes it that much heavier, and more importantly, that much more fragile. In fact, the staff actually had rolls of bubble wrap prepared in-store, which tells volumes about the practicality of the product. That aside, I like that it comes fully capped, and with an extra pump so that there’s that slight bit more convenience when it comes to transporting the product. Each pump dispenses enough facial cleanser for one usage as well.
The Scent: I love the scent – now I’m no expert when it comes to scents but it does have that herbal refreshing and invigorating scent without any of that artifical fragrance. It doesn’t linger long on the skin though.
The Texture: It’s a thick gel that lathers up pretty easily into a thin (not thick) foam. It’s not particularly the best to use with a cleansing device, so I’d advise you to use this with your palms/hands instead.
The Application/after-feel: You can use this the normal way – lather it up with wet palms and then massage gently all over the face, but there’s also a recommended method of applying it directly to dampened face for a couple of minutes so that the lactic acid ingredient can help work its magic (i.e reduce breakouts and signs of aging etc). Lather up, massage and then rinse off as per normal. The skin is left feeling cleansed, soft and smooth but without that stripped-dry squeaky-clean feel.
The Verdict: After using it for a couple of weeks, I’m loving it! It cleanses the skin well without any gross/sticky/greasy residue, leaves the skin feeling refreshed and balanced, and more importantly, I haven’t had any breakouts from this product. I’m pretty impressed with this product, and since it’s a considerably successful first foray into the brand, this means that I will have more Aesop reviews coming up :D For those looking for a relatively mild-medium strength cleanser (and even if you have sensitive skin), I’d recommend you try this one.
