Review: Aesop Parsley Seed Anti Oxidant Eye Serum

By Beautifulbuns

It’s been a while since I tried a new eye product – I guess they take a long time to run out, and I do tend to use them sparingly cos I have this phobia of growing millia seeds. When I headed to Melbourne last year, I stocked up quite a bit on Aesop, and guess what? I’ve finally come down to using this!

Aesop Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Eye Serum

I say…

The Packaging: A cute little glass bottle that comes with a dropper tool.

The Scent: I love, love, love the scent – it’s kinda herbal but those western sorts that you’d associate with aromatherapy (I think I smell some lavender and chamomile, but don’t quote me on this). It’s refreshing and yet soothing at the same time.

The Texture: A relatively lightweight serum that’s best described as a watery gel. A drop is enough for both eyes (for me – use a drop per eye if you prefer more hydration or have drier skin), and it’s super easily absorbed after some light patting. There is no greasy/sticky residual aftermath.

The Verdict: I’m not one for heavy serums/creams around the eye area, so this works for me. It refreshes the undereye area immediately after application. I’ve been using it for weeks and I haven’t noticed any extra millia seeds. The skin area looks slightly hydrated and feels softer and more moisturised, but I wouldn’t go as far as to say that fine lines have disappeared (on a permanent basis). It did help lessen the puffiness slightly, but it did not work on my dark eye circles (which I have to emphasize again are caused by my sinus and subsequent respiratory tract congestion) – note that I always think the best solution for banishing the racoon eyes is plenty of sleep and a good diet (there’s really no shortcut to that). Overall, I actually do like this because it helps hydrate and soothe the undereye area while providing an adequate boost of moisture without being overly rich.
