Reboot

Hi everyone! Bree here.
Every exit is an entry somewhere else.--Tom Stoppard
The past few weeks have been surprising in several regards. Things were going well (so I thought) with Mac Guy until about 2 weeks ago, he "crashed and shut down".
We had gone on a group date with one of my guy co-workers (not The Co-Worker, a co-worker) and his fiance and their friends. Thought we were all having fun. Then Mac Guy takes me home and then has "the talk". He basically had a bit of a meltdown and kept saying that he was so stressed out and in some mangled way, said that he couldn't see me anymore.
I started to cry (geez, I thought I was done crying over men this year) and asked him to leave. So the next few days, I spent some time crying and hanging out with my sister. My sister, God bless her, immediately started to look online for new guys for me.
There is now a new potential replacement for Mac Guy. I will call him Paradise. He's a bit older than I am but sounds a lot more mature and stable. We have had a couple good phone conversations. I am meeting him for the first time tomorrow night at a gastropub after work. I'm a little nervous but mostly excited. If we don't hit it off romantically, maybe he could be a friend.
I also had some interesting e-mails from other guys trying to connect with me. There was one guy who reminded me a little of Hopeless Romantic. This guy, Desperate Chick, (no offense, ladies) kept e-mailing me. He actually got a bit mad/upset that I didn't e-mail him back the next day. I'm trying to incorporate part of the Rules by waiting a full day before responding. "DC" said that if I wasn't interested, to let him know. Who does that?
Then on a Saturday, he e-mailed me "I'm free tonight. Want to do something?". I promptly ignored him and haven't talked to him since. Yikes. I almost never accept a last-minute invite, especially from a stranger. I tend to take at least 2 hours to get ready for a date.
My sis and I went out downtown last Friday night. That was a strange and fun night. We saw a number of men who make me wish that I was not single. I did meet one guy who didn't appear to be 22. We danced for a bit, made out on a couch, and exchanged phone numbers. I haven't done that in about 7 1/2 years or so. It was fun. I'm quite sure that I will never see him or hear from him again and I'm fine with that.
I'm cautiously optimistic about my date with Paradise.
Until next time, cheers!
