BlogFest was absolutely incredible, as expected. I have a TON to share with you all, but I figured I’d start with something we all love – good eats!
One of the many reasons I love going to health and fitness conventions is to discover new health foods that fit my many dietary restrictions. Well, BlogFest and IDEA World did not disappoint. Check out some of the awesome quick and healthy meatless eats I enjoyed this weekend:
Pro Alpha Greens – You all know I’m always down to try new protein powders. Not only are Pro Alpha’s plant-based protein powders delicious, but they also have a sweet green drink that is quite tasty. It has 20+ servings of fruits and veggies, 30 billion probiotics per serving, and doesn’t contain any soy, wheat, gluten, dairy, preservatives or artificial stuff.
Quest Nutrition – Of course I hit up the Quest booth. I tried out some of their new protein powder flavors and snagged my favorite bar, White Chocolate Raspberry, that I snacked on between workout sessions.
Surf Sweets – If you know me, you know I have a gummy bear addiction. Unfortunately, most gummy treats have corn syrup, which this allergic chick can’t have. It’s made me very sad. BUT THEN! On my way to Blogfest, I was hanging out in the JetBlue terminal at JFK and found these babies! They’re organically sweetened and free from corn syrup, artificial colors and flavors and the top ten allergens! I might have to order myself a Costco sized case of these…
Health Warrior Protein Bars – I’m a big fan of Health Warrior Chia bars. They’re one of my favorite post-run snacks. Annmarie and I hit up their booth at the expo and discovered they now have protein bars! The bar’s 10g of clean protein come from a proprietary blend of super plants like chia, oats, quinoa and peas. Noms!
General Mills Gluten Free Rice Chex – General Mills hosted a snack break for all us fit bloggers, and I chowed down on some Rice Chex topped with cacao powder, cinnamon and toasted coconut. I also got to chatting with some of their reps and found out they’re coming out with gluten/soy/corn free Honey Nut Cheerios! I can’t wait!
LARABARS – I’ve had LARABARS before and really enjoy them. They’re made up of a gluten free blend of unsweetened fruits, nuts and spices – each bar containing no more than nine ingredients. I snagged myself a few Apple Pie ones for the weekend.
Daiya Cheese – Soooo did you know this is pronounced DAY-AH? I was totally saying, “DIE-AH.” Whoops! Well, I got to try some of their Smoked Gouda Style Block cheese and it was AMAZING! I didn’t know it was soy free on top of being free from gluten and dairy. This is a great option for those with lactose-intolerance or for my vegan friends out there.
Vigilant Eats Superfood Cereal – This was another airport find. Annmarie and I both snagged these for dinner on the plane. They’re little cups of oats and superfoods (all organic and of course allergen free). All you do is open it up and pour in your liquid of choice (cold or hot) let it sit for a sec and enjoy! It even comes with a spoon. I got Maca Double Chocolate and added in some chocolate almond milk. I may or may not have also mixed in a banana and some Justin’s Maple Almond Butter. Super yum.
Skoop – I was excited to see Skoop at the expo since they’ve recently gone through a redesign. I love their new look! They were giving out samples of their new Ignite Superfood Endurance Beet Blend. It’s a pre-workout that apparently helps improve athletic performance and physical function by increasing cardiac efficiency and reducing recovery times during a workout. I’ll keep you posted on how it works!
Arctic Zero - Healthy ice cream! YES! I got to try some of Arctic Zero’s new chunky pints at Blend and was pumped to get to try a few more flavors at the IDEA World Expo since I still have a hard time finding them at my local grocery. The Key Lime is super tasty!
I can’t wait to check out all these quick & healthy meatless eats! So many new goodies to try!…

Since our days were jammed packed with sessions and workouts, we all pretty much survived off of these little healthy snacks: a chia bar for breakfast, a protein shake between workouts, a Quest Bar for lunch… When we finally did have time for a real meal, what did we fit bloggers do? We opted for super healthy burgers, pizza and sweet potato fries, obviously. There may have also been some alcohol involved. Hey… it’s all about balance, right?
