Throughout the course of the 2010/11 Championship season Queens Park Rangers consistently performed to a high standard. They were easily the most exciting Championship team, and midway through last year’s campaign that they would pulled out all the stops and run away with the Championship title.
Recently, speculation had arisen about the potential departure of their Moroccan playmaker Adel Taarabt. Taarabt was the star of the show all throughout last season – making 45 appearances and scoring 19 goals. Anyone following the Premier League betting odds will know he is crucial to the side’s fortunes.
It was supposed that PSG lodged a £13.5 million bid for the former Tottenham player, but news of this proposed move has died down in recent times; which suggests to me that Taarabt will remain at Loftus Road for at least a season of Premier League football. QPR’s recent 4-0 home defeat against Bolton must have been disappointing for the QPR manager – Neil Warnock. It was understood that during the match, recent acquisition Kieron Dyer suffered a broken metatarsal. But it is thought that the injury is not as bad as first thought, and Dyer should return to training within days rather than weeks.
Two signings that Neil Warnock is keen to make is West Ham’s outstanding midfielder Scott Parker. If The Hoops managed to apprehend Scott Parker, then their survival chances would be boosted. However, people following the FA Cup football betting should bear in mind that they may sacrifice other competitions for the sake of the Premier League.
Various sources suggest that Warnock has put forward a bid of £4 million to The Hammers for the prolific playmaker. It is quite likely that West Ham will reject the £4 million in the hope of getting a figure of around £6 million. Another player on Warnock’s shortlist is John Guidetti. Warnock hopes to secure the talents of Guidetti from money-moguls Manchester City on a season long loan. If they could manage to gather the signatures of both Parker and Guidetti, then they will have a fighting chance of staying up.
