Purple Dip Dye: Take 2

By Yougottabegorgeousx @yougottabgorgex
So today I am doing a follow up from my dip dye post about a week ago. When I dip dyed my hair I used two products the Directions dye and Schwarzkopf. Here is a link to that blogpost.

I have used Schwarzkopf hair dyes before when I dyed my hair black and to be honest I wasn't very impressed, I feel they left a very patchy look. But since then I had heard good things about the brand and I felt that it would be a good product for a dip dyed effect.
I left this on for about 50 minutes and then just washed it off. When I was drying it and styling it I felt like it had darkened the ends of my hair but hadn't really made them purple. And as time went on I found it difficult to actually spot any color in the ends of my hair. But now, looking back on photos, it has confirmed that belief.

This is a picture of the hair about 2 days after I dyed it, as you can see there is a hint of purple but is no way what I expected from the product. It darkened the ends, but I don't believe that it made a real difference to the actual color. I don't know whether it wasn't pigmented enough or if I got an old dye. But overall I was very disappointed with this product.

This picture was then taken a month after I dyed it. As you can see there is pretty much no colour, the ends are just slightly darker, but only a little. This product promises "XXL" color and is a permanent dye so this amount of pigment after one month is really bad.
But my friend also used this dye on darker hair and it had a really nice effect. We used the same packet of dye the only difference was the color of hair. I thought that my light hair would have picked up the color better than my friends but it seemed that it was the oppisite  way round.
Overall I am very disapointed with this product as I expected so much more. You can pick it up here for £5.49.Thanks, see you soon x
