There are so many products that claim to increase breastmilk supply but I will share with you those that really work on me, and they are:
Horlicks
Horlicks is a malted milk powder that most of us drank when we were kids. Malt, actually came from barley and barley is highly lactogenic—that means, it supports milk supply—as it contains copious amounts of beta-glucan, a long-chained sugar molecule that studies show has the potential to increase prolactin, an important hormone of lactation. You can read all about it here
Barley and Barley Juice/Water
To make barley juice, just boil 1 cup of barley in 1 liter or water with sugar or candied wintermelon for a minimum of 30 minutes, longer if you want it a bit thicker. Strain then cool.
To make barley water, follow the same procedure except don’t add sugar or candied wintermelon.
Use the cooked barley for soups such as Tinola. Here’s a recipe of my Lactation Tinola.
