If a woman rebels against high heeled shoes, she should take care to do it in a very smart hat. (George Bernard Shaw)Yesterday was a rough day for me folks. This whole week has been hell actually. As some of you may know, I have decided to pay down my credit card. That alone can be stressful, but with the recent outbreak of the local insane asylum*, things have been much worse. All the mentally deranged have been flocking to my job (which I work alone), and have been harassing me with their cruel words, insults, and have even thrown things at me. To be honest, I'm starting to feel a little crazy myself. And then to top all that off, I also got into a personal argument with someone this week as well. And Eloise has been rather pissy as well.
I suppose when I say "this whole week has been hell" I'm paving over a few good things. There have been pot-holes of happiness; My Hunter rain boots arrived. My friend Jesse came to visit and took me to the camera store to peruse lenses and other fun finery, and then got me drunk on both wine and chocolate. (Thank you Jesse!) As the cherry on top, this weekend I attended the grand opening the new Portobello Hats. That place is a blissful collection of both vintage and new caps that will make you believe in magic (and they even had the Oscars streaming live!). And as if to prove that believing in magic is worthwhile, I had a woman come up to me and say: "I know your face! I have seen your pictures!". Well isn't that fancy!
Tell me, do you enjoy a good hat?
A big thank you to Jennifer Webley and Amy Smith to having me!
*I should probably note here that by insane asylum, I mean a collection of crazed retail shoppers.
