Polish Picks Fall 2012 - Berries, Reds, Burgundies & Purples

By Makeupguineapig @MakeUpGuineaPig
Since they are the most traditional, I thought I would start with my top Fall polish picks in the Berry, Red, Burgundy and Purple categories. I would have included pink in this as well, but aside from not being a huge pink lover, it is not really a Fall color to me. I feel like berry takes pink's place this time of year.
I am still on the hunt for the perfect deep wine / burgundy / oxblood shade. My problem has been finding one that is dark enough, but does not look black. One shade I have included is close, but a hint too purple. If you have any suggestions, deep red or otherwise, please leave them in the comments below!
Unless otherwise noted, all photos are taken in indirect, natural light. The colors are as accurate as possible and any differences in the appearance in person will be noted. So....
Without further ado, here are my favorite Berry, Red, Burgundy & Purple Autumn / Fall nail polishes for 2012!

Mine! Not a prop!

See! It's tasty!

2 coats of Zoya Paloma in indirect natural light

Zoya Paloma – Described by Zoya as a “sheer deep fuchsia-berry with a buildable jelly gloss finish.”
This color is definitely sheer and is good for making "jelly sandwiches" where a glitter polish is "sandwiched" between layers of the sheer jelly polish. Unique colors can also be created by layering different shades or using the jelly polish as a top coat.

2 coats of Butter London's Queen Vic
in indirect natural light

Butter London Queen Vic – Described by Butter London as “red wine meets cranberry.”

1 coat of Zoya's Rekha in indirect natural light

Zoya Rekha – Described by Zoya as a “bold medium blood red with a glossy cream finish.”
Rekha is the perfect classic red. This shade is virtually identical to OPI's Chick Flick Cherry, although Chick Flick Cherry has more trouble with streaking, while Rekha can be perfect in only one coat!

2 coats of Zoya's Toni in indirect natural light

Zoya Toni – Described by Zoya as a “dark, warm medium-wine cream with strong purple tones. A fashionable muted oxblood for a classic vampy nail look. The “it” color of the season.”

2 coats of OPI's Suzi & the 7 Dusseldorfs
in indirect natural light

OPI Suzi & the 7 Dusseldorfs - A warmish, berry-like purple with a blue undercurrent. Has a slight blue duochrome finish with very subtle blue shimmer. This is a very unusual purple and the picture does not quite do it justice. Depending on the light, the color changes. This photo looks a bit more blue than in person.

2 coats of OPI's Suzi & the 7 Dusseldorfs in shady natural light
Color is a bit more accurate in the pic

1 coat of Zoya's Daul in indirect natural light

Zoya Daul – Described by Zoya as a “medium red-toned purple base with heavy purple and gold iridescent metallic sparkle.”

Daul also really should be seen in person. It has the most unique sparkle-like finish I have ever seen!

2 coats of Deborah Lippmann's Let's Go Crazy
in indirect natural light

Deborah Lippmann Let's Go Crazy - Described by Deborah Lippmann as "outrageous royal purple glitter."
No one does glitter quite like Deborah Lippmann! This has multi-colored, multi-sized circular and hexagonal glitter suspended in a royal purple jelly base. Fun without being too childish!

Deborah Lippmann's Ray of Light in
indirect natural light

Deborah Lippmann Ray of Light - Described by Deborah Lippmann as "electric indigo 3D holographic."
This polish looks rather blue in the photo, but I consider it to be a deep cool-toned purple with holographic "flakies." You can really see the "flakies" and their color-shifting tendencies in the bottle. This is a very pretty polish that is fun without being glittery. The photo makes Ray of Light look a bit lighter than the polish appears in person.
And there you have my picks for Fall polishes in the berry, red, burgundy and purple families! Up next will be blues and greens, possibly one of my favorite color ranges. Let me know what your favorite shades are because one can never have enough nail polish!!!

What? What do you mean it's not mine?
