Last week, the only polish I wore other than the prior week's Priti NYC polish in "Baby Blue Eyes" (awesome polish by the way!), was "Persephone" from Rainbow Honey. I really loved this polish. It came in a Vegan Cuts box a few months ago and I wanted to try it out. It wore beautifully and was pretty opaque in one coat, though I added a second for good measure. I liked it so much that I went to check out what their other shades they had on their website and they are gorgeous! Unfortunately, they were almost all sold out too, but so pretty and just different! Definitely check them out if you're looking for a different, but not too out there kind of shade, or you're looking for an unusual glittery shade…not just top coats either! I definitely want to try more from Rainbow Honey! :)
This past week, I went back to the blue side of the spectrum with "Kristen" from Zoya. Love this shade too! :) I only changed it because I wanted something different for my birthday this past Friday. It was even in two coats and is a lovely light, dusty blue gray. It lasted really nicely too, and I actually just put the next polish over it because "Kristen" was still in such good shape!
For my birthday, I wanted to wear a Deborah Lippmann glitter polish because it just seemed fun and, if you're going to wear a glitter, Deborah Lippmann's are hard to beat! So I decided on "Let's Go Crazy" because I actually had it in hand and it is pretty, but it wasn't exactly what I wanted. It is a deep purple chocked full of glitter and was even in two coats. It's really beautiful, but I wanted to wear something brighter for my birthday, so….
Yesterday (my actual birthday) I went out and grabbed "99 Luftballoons" from Deborah Lippmann. I thought it would be perfect for my birthday and, since it was my birthday, I felt I deserved to treat myself with a fancy new polish. :) However, when I went about painting my nails, I discovered that "99 Luftballoons" is quite a sheer fuchsia pink with tons of pretty glitter. I didn't want sheer. So, I grabbed a color from Julie G called "Peep Toe Pumps" and added one coat of that under one coat of "99 Luftballoons." "Peep Toe Pumps" was actually an amazing formula too! It was totally opaque in one coat and it's a beautiful color! I don't think I've ever worn a Julie G polish before, so I was quite pleased! :) As for "99 Luftballoons," I am not impressed - in fact, I'm rather disappointed because Deborah Lippmann glitter polishes are always so spectacular. I did like the end look though, so it wasn't a total loss. :)
That does it for my polishes the past two weeks. I know my posts have been rather generic and uninventive lately. For that I apologize. I just haven't felt too motivated lately, so it's been a real struggle trying to get good content up on the blog. I'm gonna keep trying though! :) Hopefully I'll have some more reviews posted soon and I have been working on a Best of 2013-type post. I know, it's a bit late, but we'll see if I can even complete it! :/ If there's anything you would like to see, either a review or a general idea, let me know! Any thoughts or suggestions are always welcome. :) Until next time, thanks for stopping by!!! :)
