It feels like ages since I have done a good lipstick post. I have been on the hunt for new shades especially for this Spring, and I think I have found the perfect lipstick and gloss combination.
…And of course we are going Pink. I love a strong color on the lips, (Mainly on other people though), but to keep on trend this Spring, I have opted for a softer, candy, shade of pink, (Oh so girly).
My lipstick choice is number 16 from Kate’s second lipstick collection with Rimmel London, (£5.49). The best way I can describe this colour, is as a grapefruit flavoured bubblegum pink. It is creamy in texture and has a gorgeous semi matte finish to it, (And even a fruit scent)…But of course, (Like most lipsticks) it only lasts until your next drink, so unfortunately you have to reapply it several times.
Although the lipstick has a gentle gloss finish to it, I always like to top that gloss up, and get that extra shiny coat applied on those lips. Now I am sure you have all heard of Tanya Burr, (If not look her up), she is an inspiration to all us beauty bloggers. As soon as the beauty blogging community heard of her ‘Lips and Nails’ launch, the purses were open ready and waiting for her launch.
Unfortunately, as I am always having to be ‘relatively’ good with my money, (I am always putting myself on spending bans), I could only pick one gloss from her range, so I opted for ‘Picnic in the Park’, (£6.99) surprisingly an almost perfect match to Kate’s lipstick, just slightly more of a barbie pink (It was a tough choice between this one and ‘Just Peachy’).
‘Picnic in the Park’ has a gorgeous creamy gloss texture, that is so perfectly pigmented that it looks stunning on its own, as well as layered on top of my Kate lipstick. The applicator is great for achieving an even application, and ideal for little touch me ups during the day.
