Philosophy's Miracle Worker Dark Spot Corrector: A True Miracle?
By Makeupguineapig

Clinique was the first that I was aware of to come out with
a dark spot corrector, but Philosophy’s Miracle Worker Dark Spot Corrector blows the Clinique
version out of the water! “Philosophy: to achieve the miraculous is to erase
perceptions and embrace the brilliance within” proclaims the bottle of this
wonder treatment. It seems to me that it does just that! Dark and red spots
fade quicker than without the elixir and my face seemed a bit brighter, more
luminous almost immediately.
I had been loyally using the Clinique version for quite some
time when so I did not expect much of a difference with the Philosophy Miracle
Worker. Much to my amazement, any red spots remaining from former blemishes
seemed to fade quicker and more evenly. My skin looked brighter, more lively and
youthful, almost glowing. I am not easily impressed by skin care and am very
skeptical that anti-aging, spot fading, wrinkle-reducing, etc, etc treatments
actually work. Philosophy proved me wrong! Miracle Worker, indeed!
According to Philosophy’s website,
Miracle Worker is clinically proven to show visible improvement in skin’s
radiance in 4 weeks, skin tone appeared improved within 8 weeks, and skin
brightness and evenness improved within 12 weeks. It is formulated for all skin
types, particularly skin with pigmentation, discoloration and/or dark spots
cause by aging, sun damage, hormonal changes, skin stress and post-acne
scarring. Miracle Worker “works at multiple levels to address dark spots”,
helping to improve the look of dark spots and discoloration, while evening out
and brightening one’s skin tone. 10 different ingredients, including a
brightener and a retinoid, target 5 different forms of pigment formation. It
does not contain kojic acid or hydroquinone, common ingredient in spot
correctors that often cause irritation. Miracle Worker is free of parabens,
sulfates, synthetic fragrances or dyes, phthalates, gmos and triclosan and Philosophy
never tests on animals.
The product comes in a 1oz pump dispenser. The treatment itself
is a flesh-toned lotion-like consistency that blends easily into skin. Skin is
not left feeling tight, dry, itchy, oily or sticky. Applied at night after
washing my face and before moisturizing, my skin just feels clean after
applying Miracle Worker. It glides beautifully over the skin making about 1
pump enough for my entire face. It feels wonderful on the skin and, as
mentioned before, I felt like my skin looked brighter the next morning! This
could be wishful thinking, but even if it was, the red spots from acne
breakouts fade much faster than they used to making Philosophy’s Miracle Worker
one of my skin must haves!
