Paper Boat Aamras Drink Review

By Tmomw

 Hi Everyone,

My family loves mangoes and since it is a seasonal fruit and not available throughout the year we buy drinks in mangoes flavor. We have tried so many mango drinks but only few of them suited out taste buds. This summer we tried a new brand of Aamras called Oaoer Boat. Read on to know more about the drink.

Product Description:-

Aamras: a basket full of mangoes. Wrapped in old newspapers. The feast commenced. Siblings, cousins locked in battle. The basket did not lasts long. We sat there messy, sticky… in heaven.

Product Claim:-

No colors, no preservatives, no artificial flavors, basically none of that junk.

 My opinion on the product:-

This drink also comes in the same packaging as their jal jeela one reviewed here. When I first opened this drink and took it out in a tumbler I loved how thick it looked. Yes, it is thick and not artificially sweetened as many mango drink available in the market are. The drink tastes just like a mango and you won’t be able to detect and preservatives not even extra sugar. I have tested many mango drinks and they all contain extra sugar which might act as preservatives but not this one.

This one is my daughter’s favorite and not even your kid but you will love it too.  Now whenever we go for shopping she goes in the beverage section to get this drink. And I don’t mind getting 3-4 pouches for her as this contains real mangoes and is thick, luscious and not artificially sweetened. This one will be a hit among kids. I remember eating rotis, parathas or puris with mangoes only and no vegetables during summer when we were small. We haven’t tried making aamras at home like gujaratis do but love eating mangoes in breakfast, lunch and dinner.

My father used to bring a big basket full of mangoes straight from the trees in summers and my mother used to cover them with news papers so that they ripe fast. After 2-3 days they used to get ready and the whole room smelled deliciously sweet. My favorite variety is dudhia malda mango which tastes delicious and the langara tastes more or less same as malda. I don’t get the same malda in Bangalore but the langara is available here and is believed to be a type of malda.

The packaging is smart and seems better than the plastic bottles. Pouches are compact and lightweight which makes it easy to carry and store.

About Pouches:-

Paper Boat pouches are made of a four-part laminate. The two outer layers are a blend of proprietary polypropylene and polyethylene. This makes the pack withstand extremes in pressure and heat while at the same time being easy to print upon. This is the one time you can actually judge something by its cover.

The penultimate layer is made of bonded aluminum. This is to keep any form of moisture and vapor entering the pack and tampering the goodness of the drink inside. Of course this layer makes no contact with the drink. That’s the job of the inner (and final) layer. This layer is made of virgin, food-grade polypropylene which keeps the content fresh, safe and tasty(form its Website here).
