Overseas Tourists to Be Pushed by Dropping Rupee

Tourist Information Officer, Muraleedharan of Kerala Tourism Department said compared to previous year the state tourism department of Kerala is expecting to draw 10-15% of more overseas tourist this year owing to the fact of decreasing rupee which will instantly have a optimistic collision on incoming tourists in Kerala. Drop in the worth of rupee will cut the expenses of overseas tourists thus increasing their figure this season, according to him.  Compared to the 7.33 lakh of overseas tourists in 2011, the incoming of foreign tourists gradually increased to 7.94 lakhs in 2012, he added. The foreign exchange earnings have rise to Rs 4548 crore in 2012 from Rs. 4221.99 crore in 2011.
